Continuing with the Halloween theme after the story<\/a>…<\/p>\n

Saw a lot of people doing this and I figured I’d fill out my answers too. ( \u00b4 \u25bd ` )\uff89 This is one of the few BJD memes that have more interesting questions and not just those basic “what’s your favourite doll” or “how many dolls you have” etc questions.<\/p>\n

Werewolf \u2013 How has the hobby \u201ctransformed\u201d you?<\/strong>
\nHmm… I don’t know if it has “transformed” me ’cause I used to photograph and sew even before collecting BJDs, but… I definitely do those things more now. And I didn’t really have a desire to meet people who I befriended online (apart from Yenna) until I got into collecting BJDs and wanted to attend doll meets. I only went to my first anime convention in 2007 because we had a doll meet there, ahah~\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09 I’m a bit of a hermit usually… Also, I spend more money than I used to, lol! Although, I’m still pretty frugal when it comes to anything else than dolls\/figures… …<\/p>\n

Vampire \u2013 The dreaded sun! How do you feel about and cope with yellowing, or more generally the aging of these dolls?<\/strong>
\n*shrugs* I don’t really care either way. \u2510(\uffe3\u30d8\uffe3)\u250c When I started out in the hobby, I fearlessly took my dolls out in direct sunlight and didn’t pay attention to where I kept them on display… then in, 2009? when I got my first Gray skin dolls, I got a bit more paranoid about sunlight and that phase lasted for a while… but now for the past years I’ve been feeling quite “meh, who cares” about it all. (\u300d*\u00b4\u2207\uff40)\u300d My first doll turned 10 years old this summer (although, I only have his head left but anyway) and although he’s yellowed, he’s still a lovely colour. I do absolutely hate how Fairyland’s beauty white resin yellows, though, which is the reason why I sold Kei’s MNF body a few years back. It turns just gross, ugh. (\uff1b\u00ac\u0434\u00ac) No complaints about my other dolls, though. Some I even try to yellow on purpose because I dislike this new trend of pink normal skins. I prefer a creamy tone more… but yeah, I keep my resin dolls stored in two showcases; one never gets direct sunlight but the other next to my computer table gets some briefly on summer evenings. I’m pretty much over worrying about yellowing, because no matter how you hide the dolls from the light, eventually they will age and yellow due to air and other variables… I’ve spent so much money on these things that I want to enjoy them and not keep them stashed away in some dark corner. (\u00b4\u2207\uff89\uff40*)\u30ce<\/p>\n

This is the one that never gets any direct sunlight as it’s next to the balcony door and against the only wall that has big windows.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
And the other one next to my computer table. It’s relatively well protected, too, but yeah… during summer it gets more exposure.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Frankenstein\u2019s Monster \u2013 Have you ever modded a doll? Tell us about it! If you could magically try any mod without fear of failure, what would you like to try?<\/strong>
\nI’ve done some minor mods, like eye opening and stuff… and I’ve always sanded the seams of my white\/normal skin dolls because I hate how they feel. And some companies have really sharp seams, so it’s better to get rid of them. Although, these days I’m laaazyyyy so I’m all “hurrah” if I buy a tan or gray skin doll and I DON’T HAVE TO sand the seams! (\uff89\u00b4\u30ee\u00b4)\uff89*:\uff65\uff9f\u2727 Because it might cause discolouring, so I have the perfect excuse not to do it, lol! I suppose the most extensive mod that I’ve done so far is sanding my DC Russel’s human face into a more animal-like one:<\/p>\n

This is the plan I made in Photoshop… originally I thought about shortening the neck as well but it grew on me (no pun intended) and I decided against it when I received the doll.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Zombie \u2013 Have you ever caught the Marketplace virus?? Name some unplanned purchases that jumped out and \u201cinfected\u201d you?<\/strong>
\nHmm… I haven’t done any impulse buys on the second hand market, only directly from companies. Because limited releases. (;\uff40O\u00b4)o Well, this is for BJDs. If I were to talk about Pureneemos, then YES… I have bought several of them second hand because “wow that’s a great deal for that particular doll I MUST BUY IT NOW BECAUSE I’M SURE I WON’T HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE!\u2570(\u2727\u2207\u2727\u2570)” … yeap. Also, figures are so easy to end up buying ’cause of the pre-orders it’s all like “Well I won’t have to pay for it RIGHT NOW… …” (\u30d8\uff3f\u3000\uff3f)\u30d8<\/p>\n

Wasn’t that long ago that I took this group shot and it’s already horribly outdated… … beware of the neemos!! (.`\uff65\ufe4f\uff65\u00b4.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Skeleton \u2013 What\u2019s your favorite body sculpt? Forget heads!<\/strong>
\nOut of females, Narae 43cm body is close to perfection, the only complaints that I have are the narrow shoulders and hips and too short arms. But otherwise it’s loove. (\u00b4\u2200\uff40)\u2661 From bigger female dolls, Oasisdoll Chic body hands down. It’s perfection all around!! (\u00b4 \u25bd\uff40).\u3002\uff4f\u2661 Only, for my Yun I wish there was an option for a bigger bust because she’s supposed to have huge boobs, but… yeah. Both have lovely jointing, they can do really natural poses and they do it smoothly. (\uff61\u2019\u25bd\u2019\uff61)\u2661<\/p>\n

For males… hmmm… Spiritdoll Proud is one of my favourites, even though I wish the arms were a biiiiit more defined. They’re suffering a little from the shapeless-stick-figure-arms-and-legs syndrome that many Chinese BJD bodies have. But otherwise it’s quite A+++ hot, ohohohoho~ Not to mention those optional parts–<\/del> \u10da(\u0301\u25c9\u25de\u0c6a\u25df\u25c9\u2035\u10da) I’d also love Soulkid NL male body and Vito male body lots if they didn’t have idiotic joints. NL body is pretty idiotic from its limbs and Vito’s TERRIBLE chest joint ruins otherwise a perfectly fine doll. I am bitter. ( \uff70\u0300\u03b5\uff70\u0301 ) I also love the old Dollshe Hound body apart from the grandpa butt… BUT THAT SLOUCH. It’s divine. I kinda regret not getting that body for Misha despite the grandpa butt… I was secuded by Pure body’s abs and perky & full buttcheeks, damn iiittttt!!! \u00a0\uff61\uff9f\uff9f(\u300d\uff61\u2267\u25a1\u2266)\u300d<\/p>\n

Witch \u2013 Name some dolls that are magical! Seeing them on your dashboard<\/del> inspires you! Can be general sculpts or specific dolls owned by talented friends.<\/strong>
\nI mostly browse flickr when I want to see lovely doll photos. Flickr has the best selection of fabulous doll photos that I know of. \uff08*\u2019\u2200\u2019\u4eba\uff09\u2665 I can be inspired by pretty much anything, but of course there are certain doll photographers who I follow more closely because I love their work.
