But today we have another new dolly in the house, as the Dollfie Dream Macross Frontier Sheryl Nome that I hunted down from Yahoo!Japan arrived, yaaay~! ( \u00b4 \u25bd ` )\uff89 Earlier this year I was *so* bummed because I hadn’t been following Volks’ news and only spotted Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee, like, a couple of days after the pre-order had closed. \u30fe(\u00b4\u56d7\uff40\uff61)\uff89 I fell for Sheryl right away, it’s rare to see more mature-looking DDs like her and I knew I had to find her somehow! Well, this summer Mariko distracted me for a while, but at the end of October Volks finally had news about Sheryl and Ranka, and once the shipping schedule was published, I decided to try my luck and put a thread up at the international DD forum, looking for a Sheryl head.<\/p>\n

Because, while Sheryl is beautiful as Sheryl, I naturally had my own vision for her. And from the moment I decided that I’ll get myself a Sheryl of my own, I thought that I’ll want a DDdy body for her with Rajikaru’s Peach Pai bust. However, Rajikaru’s busts can be tricky to find for a reasonable price, so I don’t know when I’ll be able to complete this “dream body” for her… but yeap. \u30fc( \u00b4 \u25bd ` )\uff89 I originally wanted to find only the head, because I figured it’s the only essential part that I really, really, really want and selling DD bodies has been rather tough for me, so I’d rather not have gotten the DD body in the first place since I’d have to sell it anyway.<\/p>\n

Well, there were people who either couldn’t pay for their pre-orders or had changed their minds, but of course finding just the head was pretty difficult… so I thought that maaaybe I’ll agree to buy the head+body, if that’s the only way to get Sheryl. Well, I did get one offer for Sheryl’s head+body, but it was on the expensive side so I declined. (;\u00b4\u0414`) A while after the Japanese customers had already been able to pick up their dolls from Volks stores and international shipping began, I ventured to Y!J to see what kind of prices there were… and lo and behold, there were several reasonably priced fullsets for sale!\u30fe(*\u2019\uff2f\u2019*)\uff72 At first I tried bidding on a fullset Sheryl + her two extra outfits – while I find the Lion outfit quite… tacky, I absolutely adore Sheryl’s date set – so I would’ve loved getting that and I would’ve sold the other outfits. But the price of that fullset rose above my limited budget, so I had to let that one go. There was a Sheryl head up for auction as well, but the price hiked waaay high… I figured I might as well go for a fullset and sell everything but the head rather than pay a whole bunch of extra for just the head. So, I put a bid on a fullset and despite having a bit of competition, I managed to win her for 79000 yen~\u2570(\u2727\u2207\u2727)\u256fIt was a pretty good price, I think, especially since I didn’t have to pay any service fees for her because the shopping service I used had a free service fee event. Double yay!!! \u30fd(*\u00b4\u2200`)\uff89\uff9e The shipping ended up being pretty expensive at almost 8000 yen, but then again… I didn’t end up paying too much extra compared to her retail price, so I’m a very happy camper! Of course, I had to pay customs fees for her when she arrived in Finland, but I would’ve had to pay customs fees even if I’d bought her directly from Volks. (\u30fc\u30fc;)<\/p>\n

I was quite worried about the package, because right now the Finnish postal service is a mess… the mail is extremely slow and packages can get stuck somewhere for days. ( \u00b4\u25b3\uff40) They might not even deliver them to the receipents but turn them right back to the sender!! \u03a3(\u3063\uff9f\u0414\uff9f\uff1b)\u3063 Reading the postal service’s Facebook made me really nervous, because it’s full of posts from unhappy customers. I was anxious all weekend and yesterday, but luckily the familiar postman brought the package at the usual time and there were no issues at all. PHEW! (.`\uff65\ufe4f\uff65\u00b4.) I definitely hope that they’ll get things sorted out soon, I don’t dare to order anything in the mail as long as this situation continues… I still have one incoming package from Mandarake, ’cause I bought a DD bust so that I can sell this DD body I got with Sheryl… as I want to keep the flat type L-bust that comes with Sheryl. But hopefully I’ll get that one home okay, I can’t put this body up for sale until I get the replacement bust… and I of course hope to sell this body soon because the sooner that it sells, the sooner I can buy the DDdy body.<\/p>\n

… ookay, now I’ve babbled on forever, ahah.\u00a0(\uff65\u2200\uff65\uff1b) Maybe I should move onto the box opening photos, finally. This time of the year sucks because it’s dark in the mornings and evenings. I tried to stall opening the box until it got light out, but I wasn’t quite patient enough, ahah – so the first photos are rather awful, sorry about that. (\u30fc\u30fc;)<\/p>\n

Biiig box! At first I had trouble figuring out were the seams were… \uff62(\uff9f\uff8d\uff9f)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
… but then I realised that it was two boxes taped together. Duhh! (\u2312\u25bd\u2312)\u309e<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
At this point I was pretty confused, because what I felt was something soft and not a doll box… is it even Sheryl??? \u03a3(`\uff65\u0414\uff65\uff89)\uff89 I hurried to remove the plastic wrapping…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
… WHOA- ! It’s one of those fancy fabric bags that they get in Japan when they pick up their dolls at the Volks stores!!! \u0449(\u309c\u30ed\u309c\u0449) Totally did not expect to get one! \u2665 I should read more closely what I bid on, lol!\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
And when I opened the bag, I noticed that there’s also a poster! Oh gosh, I’m sooo glad I decided to buy this fullset Sheryl after all~ \uff2f(\u2267\u2207\u2266)\uff2f I like extras, haha!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The poster didn’t stay straight at all by itself, so I had to quickly grab something to hold it down… my figma\/nendo parts box was the closest, lol. (\u15d2\u15dc\u15d5)\u055b\u0335\u0316 On the other side is a picture of Sheryl in the Lion outfit, but I prefer this look for her~ Too bad no Date outfit Sheryl, she’s my absolute favourite, so pretty~! (\uff61\u2019\u25bd\u2019\uff61)\u2661<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Light was still scarce, so I lifted the box up. Hehee, got a fancy box now, since Mariko came in the basic DD box~ \u2665 Too bad they didn’t have a pretty illustration for the box, like they have for the Tony Taka girls (Kirika being the latest) and VOCALOID Miku.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Lugged the box under the window to see her pretty face!\uff08=\u00b4\u2207\uff40=\uff09Oh my gosh, she’s even more gorgeous in person!! I’m so in love with her~ \u208d\u055e\u25cc\u2032\u1d55\u2035\u0942\u25cc\u208e\u2661<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
After spending a while admiring her lovely face, I finally got around uncovering the rest of her. I definitely need to get a DDdy body to go with her beautiful, mature face~\uff08*\u2019\u2200\u2019\u4eba\uff09I feel that the DD body is too skinny for her…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The outfit, accessories, leaftlet and wigs were packaged under the doll.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Sheryl and all her things. Her outfit is much lovelier in person, and oh my gosh her wigs – such a lovely peachy-blonde mix~!\uff08*\u00b4\u25bd\uff40*\uff09\u2665 I almost want to keep one of them, but I really shouldn’t if I want to buy her a new body, ahah…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Pretty, pretty wigs~ (\u00b4\u2207\uff89\uff40*)\u30ce They’re not anyone’s style, but… so pretty!!! (\uff89\u2267\u2200\u2266)\uff89 \u2665<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
And Sheryl’s outfit. I didn’t unpack all of the accessories here, because at first I didn’t think I’d put them on… however, as I dressed her, I felt like I should add some of the accessories to make her look more complete. (\u00b4,,\u2022\u03c9\u2022,,)\u2661<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
I couldn’t help photographing her face a bit more. So, so, so pretty! (\/\u2207\uff3c*)\uff61o\u25cb\u2661<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Her face up is much nicer in person! (\u4eba\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)\u2661 Especially the eyebrows seemed odd to me from the first owner photos, but they don’t bother me as much in person. Also, they don’t seem too “blonde” like I originally thought, yay! I can’t repaint her for a while due to the humidity, but I can definitely live with this face up in the mean time. \u2665<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
I almost forgot to take 3\/4 profile & profile shots, ahah…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
She’s got such a nice profile~ (=^-\u03c9-^=) Her nose is really lovely! \u2665 I haven’t cared for KOS-MOS and Alna because of their noses, but I love everything about Sheryl!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
After I dressed her in the default gear, I of course wanted to snap a few photos to keep as memories of miss Sheryl~ \u2665<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
So gorgeous she is!! \u00b4\u0348 \u1d55 `\u0348 \u2661\u00b0\u25cc\u030a<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
I love, love, love her!! o(\u2267\u2207\u2266o) \u2665 \u2665 \u2665 Maybe if someday I win the lottery, I can buy another Sheryl to keep as Sheryl, lol~\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09I love this doll so much, I’m not kidding!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
But soon I packed Sheryl’s things away, and styled her as my Suiren. She looks lovely as a brunette! (\u2018\u2200\u2019\u25cf)\u2661<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
But gosh, this wig is just PERFECT!\uff08\u4eba*\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09\u2665 \u2665 \u2665 And her eyebrows match it quite nicely, too! Perfection~ ( \u02d8 \u00b3\u02d8)\u2665<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Okay, so… Sheryl will become Suiren, who is actually a blatant anime version of Yun Hee – if the fact that I want a voluptuous body for her and RenRen wearing Yun’s wigs didn’t give it away yet. (\uff65\u2200\uff65\uff1b) What can I say, I love Yun’s character a lot? Lol~\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09I’m sure it seems crazy to have three different dolls of one character, but then again – why the hell not? (*\u2267\u25bd\u2266)\uff89\uff7c)) I decided to make this anime!Yun Japanese and gave her a Japanese name to keep things a little bit simpler… since I already have two Yuns, so maybe a third one would’ve been too much. ((\u00b4\u2200`;)) So, yeah, I pretty much just picked the Japanese equivalent for Yun’s name, because if I’ve understood right, Yun Hee means “water lily”, thus Suiren. And her nickname is Ren (or RenRen). She’s pretty much like Yun Hee, except I decided that Ren is a singer\/model. And she doesn’t have pet bunnies like Yun, although she does love bunnies and other fluffy & cute animals. Yeap.<\/p>\n

But I think I’ve written enough for now, ahah… I’m quite tired because I didn’t sleep too well last night. Tonight I should be able to sleep well again, no need to be anxious about RenRen now that she’s home safely, yay~!
