One of these events I attended physically, with the other I had to settle for stalking photos on twitter, lol~ ( \u00b4 \u25bd ` )\uff89 But I’m making a post of both at once since they were held on the same weekend.<\/p>\n

But anyway, Desucon Frostbite was held in Lahti from the 15th to 17th this year. This is my third year in a row that I’m attending the con. As it’s got an age limit of 18 years, there isn’t as much competition as with cons that are free for all ages, so I CAN actually get tickets there. With some other cons the tickets sell out in a few minutes and I’ve got no chance with those ’cause I always forget to be stalking for tickets, lol! (\u15d2\u15dc\u15d5)\u055b\u0335\u0316<\/p>\n

Originally I planned to attend the con both on Saturday and Sunday, but I was only able to be there on Saturday after all. (\uff61\u2022\u0301\ufe3f\u2022\u0300\uff61) Well, that was the most important day anyway, ’cause the guests of honour, Abe Atsushi and Oomori Takahiro had panels on that day. \u30fe(\uff20^\u25bd^\uff20)\uff89 I would’ve loved to see them both, but sadly the doll meet was at the same time as those panels… so I had to sacrifice one of them. (\u00b4\uff1b\u03c9\uff1b`) I chose to go to the doll meet first and attend Oomori’s panel as he’s directed some of my all-time favourite anime series, like Natsume Yuujinchou<\/em> and Baccano!<\/em>. It would’ve been lovely to see Abe, too, but… sadly there’s no possibility to clone yourself (yet at least) to be in two places at once, lol!\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09<\/p>\n

I arrived to the venue around 10am and first I was a bit confused about the meet up location… because I thought I knew where it was, but nobody was there when I arrived so I wondered if I was at the wrong place after all. \uff62(\uff9f\uff8d\uff9f) Luckily soon Pihlajakoto<\/a> arrived and reassured me that we’re in the right place. We decided to go sit down and unpack our dolls and wait for others to arrive as well. Luckily soon people started arriving, including Petunia<\/a> and Untuvikko<\/a>. And bit by bit, more people came and it started looking more like a doll meet, hehe~ \u30fe(\u00b4\u2200\uff40\u25cb)\uff89<\/p>\n

Because it was a con meet up, people came and went, so I didn’t get photos of all the dolls at the meet (and I failed royally with some photos ’cause my hands were shaking… I always get nervous when meeting new people, so I’m a shaking, blushing and babbling mess lol) and we didn’t have an introduction round either, so I don’t know who all the dolls belonged to. \u0e05(\u0e51\u2019\u0394\u2019\u0e51) But I have some photos to publish… mostly at meet ups I tend to forget taking photos and just talk to people ’cause it’s a rare treat to get to talk with so many dolly hobbyists at once, haha~ … although, I always go on and on about cats, too, if I know that there are cat people around, ahem… (-\u2200-`; )<\/p>\n

Test photo of mine and Petunia<\/a>‘s neemos. Both of us got Ookami Koron just recently, so naturally they got to travel to the con! Petunia<\/a> also brought that twintail Erunoe for me to see, eep~ \u30fe(\u2267\u2207\u2266*)\u309d I love neemos with twintails!!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Untuvikko<\/a>‘s cute Sweet Dreams Chiika and Red Riding Hood Koron~ When I spotted them in her arms I was all “more neemos!! \u2570(\u2727\u2207\u2727\u2570)”. It’s the same as with cats, when I spot one, I just have to exclaim “Kitty~!” … yeah, I’m weird.\u00a0(( \u00b4\u2200`;))<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Petunia<\/a>‘s Miku with her leek! \u30fd(\u3000\uff65\u2200\uff65)\uff89 My brain had a total shortcut and I couldn’t remember what a leek is in Finnish, so I was just all “That… leek, you know!” Happens to me a lot, I get so used to speaking in English at the uni…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
A Souldoll Gana! I’m pretty sure her owner is a member at the Finnish BJD forum, Hartsilapset, but I haven’t been very active there for the past couple of years so I can’t recall their name, unfortunately… \u30fe( \u0e51\u00b4\u0434`\u0e51)\uff82<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
This MDD Illya was so cute and had the prettiest dress… that I apparently failed to take a photo of, because I was fascinated by her pretty custom made eyes! \u208d\u055e\u25cc\u2032\u1d55\u2035\u0942\u25cc\u208e\u2661 The owner said that a friend of hers made the eyes. Hopefully we’ll get to meet again at a DD meet up sometime!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Then Tiinyan<\/a> arrived and look what she had with her – the pureneemo counterpart of my picconeemo Himeno!! \u30fe(@\u00b0\u25bd\u00b0@)\u30ce It was such a fun coincidence, hehe~ … it looks so cute when you have both the pureneemo and picconeemo version together, hmmm…. I’m getting dangerous ideas… ! (\u0e51\u00b0\u8278\u00b0\u0e51)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
My own dolls don’t get much camera love from me at meet ups, ahah… I can photograph them at home so I’m more interested in going around seeing other people’s dolls. I took this photo solely because Megu’s eyes were sparkling prettily, lol! (\u15d2\u15dc\u15d5)\u055b\u0335\u0316<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The two Kikipops at the meet up! I didn’t think much about Kikipops until I got to see Petunia<\/a>‘s Nuppu in a local meet up last year… but they are surprisingly cute. Especially all in pink, uh-oh! (\u0942\u2032o\u2035 \u0942)*\u2732\uff9f<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Baal was my resin doll representative. (\uff9f\u2200\uff9f\u3000) Because I mean, look at him. The enthusiasm is just pouring out of him! He’s a fine specimen indeed. \/nods<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
We also got Aoto to join us! (\u30ce\u30fb\u2200\u30fb)\u30ce Too bad that there weren’t any Yuutas around because the 16th was Yuuta’s birthday. I still fail to find me a Yuuta… ( \u00b4\u2022\u0325\u00d7\u2022\u0325` )<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Before I had to head off, I also took some quick photos of the dolls at the other end of the table. Sadly you can tell that I was in a hurry, my camera focused on those damn rocks instead of the dolls… (\u30fc\u30fc;)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Not much luck with the rest of the photos either, I couldn’t get a decent photo of Tiinyan<\/a>‘s Mirai. (-\u2227-\uff1b) Augh, those Mamachapps are so cute and tiny and tempting… ! (\u25cf\u00b4\u25a1`)\u2661<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 
I had a lot of fun at the meet up, too bad that my time was cut short because I had to hurry to see Oomori’s panel so I didn’t get to talk with everyone. But hopefully there’ll be more dolly meets in the future to attend! ~\u30fe(\uff3e\u2207\uff3e) I was also super flattered because I got compliments on Megu-tan’s outfit and I also had people come tell me that they read my blog! Thank you so much for your kind words, everyone~ (\u4eba\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)\u2661 I feel a bit bad that I’ve been terrible at blogging lately and I have so many backlogged posts from 2015 still as well, ahah…<\/p>\n

But yeah, my next stop was Oomori’s panel. It was very interesting to listen to, and of course it was the most interesting to hear about those favourite shows of mine~ (\uff61\u2019\u25bd\u2019\uff61)\u2661 Although, in the end the panel was 70% about series that I haven’t watched or know only by name, ahah… even though I feel like I’ve watched a lot of anime over the years, there are still a lot that I haven’t watched. If only we had more hours in a day, haha…\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09<\/p>\n

After the panel, I went to the Artist Alley and bought two pairs of mittens from Pihlajakoto<\/a>‘s table for Megu-tan and RenRen. (\uff89\u2267\u2200\u2266)\uff89 Thankfully her table was at the end of the Artist Alley, because it was super crowded and I had no chance going anywhere towards the middle of it… especially since I was carrying Megu-tan in my arms, so I was hesitant to dive into the crowd. ( \u00b4\u25b3\uff40) So instead, I stayed over at Pihlajakoto<\/a>‘s table for a while to chat with her (as she’d had to leave the meet up rather soon since she had to go set up her table). The crowd was still pretty thick, so I decided to go see if there were any cute plushies or other stuff available at the big sales hall. My mom had warned me that I wasn’t allowed to bring back any “plushies or creatures”, but I was determined to ignore that order if I’d found something “must have”. But this year I didn’t manage to spot anything that called out to me, so I didn’t have to come up with excuses, ahah… (\u0e51\u00b4\u3142`\u0e51)<\/p>\n

While I was venturing in the sales hall, I spotted Kwii<\/a>! What a nice surprise~ \u03a3(\u30ce\u00b0\u25bd\u00b0)\u30ce I stayed by the table to chat with her for a while, and also accompanied her to buy a bag. I’d completely missed the bags earlier and I must admit I was tempted to buy a cool bag, too, but I held it in. After that I stayed to chat with Kwii<\/a> a bit more (mostly about Haikyuu!! lol), but since my driver had set a deadline at 2pm, I decided to head to try and see if I could get to see the stuff sold at Artist Alley. Luckily this time there was a smaller crowd, so I barely managed to squeeze through… but there were still quite a lot of people and I always think that I wouldn’t want to block the way, so I didn’t really stop for long to browse the selection… (\u25cf\u0e05\u0301\u0434\u0e05\u0300\u25cf) I didn’t get to see the tables on the other side of the corridor well at all, I just barely caught a glimpse of this super cool One Punch Man<\/em> print with Saitama and Genos~ (*\u2267\u2200\u2266*) I would’ve liked to see that up close, but alas… I’m too shy to just push through, ahah. (\u3002\u00b4\u0434\uff40\u3002)<\/p>\n

After that I decided to use the remaining time trying to spot some of my cosplaying friends. I never seem to be able to spot Jesmoth<\/a> despite my efforts, ahah… \u30fe(\u00b4\u25bd\uff40*;)\u309d\u201d Well, maybe one of these years I’ll manage to find her in the crowd… But! I did manage to spot Meital<\/a> in her Rikka cosplay and got to talk with her a bit! *(*\u00b4\u2200\uff40*)\u2606 Yaaay~ I was really happy about that because I haven’t been able to meet her in person until now~ (\u00b4 \u25bd\uff40).\u3002\uff4f\u2661<\/p>\n

I didn’t have much time left after that, so I went to look for a place to sit… and luckily I found an empty seat so I was able to sit down and rest my feet. My driver was late from her 2pm deadline, so I had to do some Y!J bidding on my phone… that was quite nerve-wrecking! (( \u00b4\u2200`;)) But at least Sibeliustalo has got wi-fi. When I was at Tracon last year, you couldn’t even send text messages let alone browse stuff online because there was so signal inside Tamperetalo. That really sucked.\uff08\uff1b\u00ac\uff3f\u00ac) I, of course, had to report everything that I’d been doing to Yenna<\/a> as well. As I was chatting with her, I heard a familiar voice say “She’s so absorbed into her phone that she won’t notice anything” and looked up to see Petunia<\/a> and Untuvikko<\/a>, haha~ \uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09 We chatted for a bit (mostly about cats, obviously). Since I was waiting for my driver to arrive at any minute, I didn’t go anywhere and stayed at my comfortable little seat. But in the end I ended up waiting for my driver ’til 3 pm… so, I could have gone see the otoge lecture that interested me – but then again, I’m pretty sure that they wouldn’t have talked about Tokimemo GS or Suta\u2729Suka there because I have trouble finding fellow fans even online, lol… (\u00b4\u3064\u30ee\u2282)<\/p>\n

But well, all in all I had a good time! \uff2f(\u2267\u25bd\u2266)\uff2f 2\/3 Frostbites have been really awesome for me, I’m definitely attending again in 2017! I’m also tempted by the idea of trying to grab a table at the Artist Alley to sell some dolly clothes there… but I’d definitely need a friend to help me mind the table. \/not-so-subtle hints at Yenna<\/a> \u30fe(*\u309d\u03c9\u30fb*)\u30ce<\/p>\n
