Yesterday arrived a small package from Withdoll. ( \u00b4 \u25bd ` )\uff89 Some of you might remember that a couple of years ago I ordered Baby Withdoll Stacy<\/a> to dollify Jae Sun’s daughter, Mi Sun. But in the end the face didn’t convince me in person and I sold the doll quite soon. Withdoll has released many cute tinies but none of them have been perfect – until Fox Lucy<\/a>. I was completely smitten the moment I saw her, I love how she has such a happy expression and the Asian features were a huge plus – since Mi Sun is Korean (well 1\/4 part Japanese I’d suppose as her mom is half-Japanese, half-Korean) I definitely wanted to make her look the part.\uff08*\u2019\u2200\u2019\u4eba\uff09\u2665 Financially Lucy’s release didn’t come up at a good time, but thankfully due to my sort-of-PR-person status, I’ve grown close with the staff of Withdoll and they allowed me to pay for little Lucy with layaway. Yay! *(*\u00b4\u2200\uff40*)\u2606<\/p>\n

I placed the order on the 10th of June and received a shipping notice on the 22nd of August. The tracking number started working on the 25th, so it seems like it’s safe to say that Withdoll’s packages get picked up on Thursdays. I remember I’ve had some other dolls shipped earlier in the week as well, but they didn’t make it to the post office until Thursday. So, it does sound like they’ve arranged for the packages to be picked up on Thursdays. I remember reading that some other companies also have certain days when a truck comes to pick up the packages and takes them to the post office.<\/p>\n

But let’s move onto the box itself! Customs kept the package as hostage for a couple of days, so it took a while to get the package home even though it made on a direct Finnair flight from Seoul to Helsinki, as opposed to cruising around Europe first. The customs office used to be more efficient, I don’t get why they’re so slow with packages these days, grrr!<\/p>\n

There she is! (\uff89\u2267\u2200\u2266)\uff89 \u2665 It’s been a while since I bought a new resin dolly, so it was pretty exciting to open this box, haha!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
All Withdoll’s tinies come with those cute fist hands and a pair of acrylic eyes. Lucy also had the special fox hands and feet that were offered as a gift, even if you didn’t order the fox kigurumi.\u30fe\uff08\u3003\uff3e\u2207\uff3e\uff09\uff89\u266a I did love the kigurumi, too, but I couldn’t afford it at the time, sadly.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Then, onto Lucy herself! I was surprised at how BIG her head is. (\u00b4\uff65\u8278\uff65\uff40) I mean, Stacy had a big head, too, but Lucy’s head feels a lot bigger. I almost couldn’t get her to sit due to the weight of her head. \u03a3(\u30ce\u00b0\u25bd\u00b0)\u30ce<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
… and I also couldn’t make her stand without support. (\u3002\u00b4\u0434\uff40\u3002) I dug up some pureneemo clothes to dress her and this Leeke wig I’d bought for Stacy. It confirmed what I thought: this wig is too small for Lucy, while it was okay on Stacy. So, Lucy does have a bigger head… (\u25cf\u00b4\u2313`\u25cf)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The wig keeps pulling itself back so that the bangs end up too high on her forehead… frustrating. (\u30fc\u30fc;) Well, this wig is awful anyway, I need to buy a new one…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Closer examination of her head explains the troubles: there’s a looooot of resin towards the back of her head. No wonder she has a hard time balancing herself and tries to fall on her back all the time. (;\u00b4\u30fb`)> And it also explains why the wig doesn’t fit nicely either. I wish there was less resin there, the shape of the head would be better and it would help with balancing as well.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Despite the big head, I really love her features! (\u00b4\u2200\uff40)\u2661 Those smiling eyes and the little nose and the puckered lips curved to a smile~ So cuuuuute! (\u0a6d\u0941 >\u03c9< )\u0a6d\u0941\u207e\u207e\u2661 She reminds me a lot of DOC Twing-key, which is her mom’s teenage sculpt, eheh~<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
I had Alisa close so I wanted to compare the head sizes for fun. Alisa is a 27cm tall Bambicrony Ciao Bella. Granted, her head is a bit smaller than some other 25cm~27cm tinies’, but… it’s still a bit funny to me that a 16cm tall tiny has a head almost as big as Alisa’s, especially when you compare the difference in the size of their bodies, ahah… ((\u00b4\u2200`;))<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Also a side view of the heads to show that the back of Lucy’s head is really loooooong… it really would be better if there was less resin. That is one heavy head for that tiny body to carry… (-\u2200-`; )<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
From the front as well, although the paper white resin is kinda hard to photograph next to tan… They both wear 14mm eyes, too, by the way.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Then I hurried to paint the new little one, because I was curious to see her with a face up. The weather was gloomy & rainy in the morning, but thankfully in the afternoon the sun came out and I was able to spray MSC without any huge problems. (\u0e51\u2022\u0300\u3142\u2022\u0301)\u0648\u2727 I should’ve sanded the head first, though, as usual with paper white resin, there were some rougher patches where pastels didn’t stick smoothly. I’ve completely sanded Mi Cha’s head, too, to make it easier to paint her. She is also White skin, you see. I prefer getting White skin and then blushing it a bit peachy, Cream White is a bit too yellow to my taste and Rose White is too piggy pink. (.`\uff65\ufe4f\uff65\u00b4.)<\/p>\n

I also took a photo of her with her daddy, Jae Sun. (\u2022\u203e\u2323\u203e\u2022)\u0648 \u0311\u0311\u2661 It was really difficult to come up with father-daughter poses because the torso and limbs of the Soulkid NL body are useless… I hoped to get the old double jointed Soulkid body for Jae, but Souldoll discontinued it, like they’ve done with all of their poseable bodies, ffff—\uff08\uff1b\u00ac\uff3f\u00ac)<\/figcaption><\/figure>

\nToday I also made a dress for Mi Sun, it didn’t turn out too well but at least she’s got something of her own:<\/p>\n
She really needs a new wig, that one is awful… and also eyes of her own, these are Ren\u00e9’s and I have to change the colour into a warmer brown & darken them a lot in Photoshop, lol.\uff08\u3000\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff09<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Despite the unexpectedly big size of her head, I do love her face and she looks exactly like I’ve envisioned Mi Sun to look like; a tiny Riya (her mom), lol~ (\u0a6d\u0941\u00b4\u0348 \u141c `\u0348)\u0a6d\u0941\u207e\u207e She’s sooooo cute~ (\u0dc6\u02ca\u0348 \u0941\ua4b3 \u0942\u02cb\u0348\u0dc6) \u2764\ufe0f Funnily enough, it’s easier to balance her when she has a wig on, as opposed to without… but I’d hope that Withdoll would consider reducing the head size a bit, it would look better to me. But then again, it might be just my personal preference because I don’t really like bobbleheaded dolls… (^\uff5e^;)\u309e<\/p>\n

Now all I need is a more mature-looking Riya and the little family is together~ (\u4eba\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)\u2661 But sadly I’d need her to be a Narae, in White skin, and Bimong doesn’t seem to be willing to sell White skin… the Normal skin is definitely too dark and orangey pink to my taste, and I wouldn’t want Riya to have a darker skin colour than Jae anyway.
