So my friend Yenna<\/a> ordered from Leeke<\/a> recently and I joined her order with two wigs for my Vocaloid Dollfie Dream Luka and Kaito’s OC looks.\uff08*\u00b4\u25bd\uff40*\uff09I’d been eyeing the “Pretty Girl<\/a>” wig for Luka for a while now, but didn’t really have anything else to order so I hadn’t gone for it until now. And well, Kaito arrived and I wanted to get a blue wig for him, so then I took a bit of a risk ordering “Atlas<\/a>” since there was a chance that the wig could look ridiculous on him. And also, Leeke’s quality hasn’t been great after the 2010’s so ordering any wigs from them is basically a gamble. But, occasionally I like to give companies a chance to redeem themselves so I bought the wigs to see what Leeke’s quality is like in 2023. (\uff61\uff65\u03c9\uff65\uff61)<\/p>\n

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the wigs:

Pretty Girl in 9~10 inch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mostly good, but had quite a bit of longer flyaways coming out of the bangs, which needed to be cut. (\uff65\u2200\uff65\uff1b) The right side also isn’t curled as well as the left.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Nothing too exciting at the sides\/back but took photos anyway.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\"null\"\n

When I started to style the bangs, I noticed that there were these S-shaped fibers underneath the top layer. I decided to cut them off completely since there was plenty of fiber to work with.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Not that much work was needed on this wig, thankfully. \u30fe(*\u00b4\u2200\uff40*)\uff89 We’ll see if I feel like evening out the ends someday, felt too lazy to do that for now. (-\u2200-`; )<\/figcaption><\/figure>

Atlas in 9~10 inch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mmmmyeah… this didn’t look great on Kaito. (( \u00b4\u2200`;))<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I did sorta like it from this side, but yeah… (;\u00b4\u0414`)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The right side had so much more fiber compared to the left side, felt like it should’ve been the opposite.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Like seriously… way too much fiber on the right side. (\u00b4\u0434\uff40\u03b9)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The back could’ve done with more fiber, too, there’s a bit of a bald spot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

After several hours of cutting and some straightening, the wig looks like this. Not quite what I wanted, but it does look better in comparison to how it was. ( \u00b4 \u25bd ` )\uff89<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It wasn’t my intention, but kinda getting Captain Levi vibes from this wig now, lol… maybe a future cosplay? (*\u00b4\u8278`*)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I’m relatively happy with the wigs, even though I’m a bit bummed that the parting is a bit wonky on Atlas (forgot to take a detailed photo) and the fiber distribution was a bit uneven… it was slightly more expensive than the other wigs, too. ( \uff70\u0300\u03b5\uff70\u0301 ) Also, while it’s a nice deep blue in real life, it pretty much looks black in photos, so I think I’ll need to find a lighter blue wig for this boy, lol. But I guess he can occasionally wear this one. (*^\u25bd^*)<\/p>\n

Right, both wigs actually had light coloured wig caps, which is good in case of vinyl dolls, as it’s less likely to be a stain hazard unlike a black wig cap. (\u3002\uff65o\uff65\uff61) I took 9~10 inch even though I have usually gotten 8~9 inch for my dolls, as I wasn’t sure about the wig caps being black or not and wanted to make sure that I’ll have room for a fabric headcap. Kaito’s head is quite big and wide, and Luka has a very tall forehead, so a bigger size was a safer bet. I did actually try some of my older 8~9 inch Leeke wigs for Kaito and they didn’t all fit him (some did). I don’t remember if I’ve tried many wigs on Luka because she needs long bangs and most of the wigs I have are either bangless or have too short bangs or straight bangs… and none of those look good on her. ( \u00b4\u25b3\uff40) But yeah, these wigs ended up being a good size for Kaito and Luka, they do stay on without fabric caps too.<\/p>\n

Right, recently I got this small travel-size hair straightener from a local shop called “MiNy” (part of the “Tokmanni” group), they have a lot of cutesy stuff. This lil friend makes it MUCH easier to work on doll wigs, compared to my “normal” size straightener. (\uff89^\u2207^)\uff89\uff9f<\/p>\n
