Sebille reached their
room, where Null was calmly watching over their daughter's play.
|
"How could you not tell
me?" She demanded.
|
Her husband's expression
never changed as he turned to look at the small woman. His calmness
irritated Sebille. Mostly because she wished she could be that way too.
|
"Hati told me that Hyun
works for the same company as you."
|
But before Null could
answer, Camille interrupted and awknowledged her mother's arrival: "Mama, look! Pinky is all
healed now. Cam took her to see the doctor."
|
Her parents both stopped
to look at her for a moment.
"That's lovely, dear." Sebille commented absentmindedly before getting back to the matter at
hand.
|
"You never
told me. Why?" She sat down.
|
"He's... alright." he
answered, keeping his tone low and calm.
|
A trait Sebille
could not manage; "Are you kidding me?" her volume increased. "He
works for those people, those people that have tried to get you killed, that
make you do things I don't want to think about. And you say he's 'alright'?"
|
"He's young... and not
very dangerous."
He talked like an old man.
|
"I don't care..."
It still didn't make it alright.
|
"I don't want
her to find out what he does. I don't want her to go through what I did...
She shouldn't have to be in danger like that."
Null didn't reply.
|
And again, they were
interrupted by a small, bright voice full of curiosity, "Are you fighting?"
|
Sebille turned to look at
her. "No dear, we're just
having a grown-up argument."
Camille reminded her of their own situation as well.
|
"And he knows that we're
here... He could bring all sort of people to this house."
She got ready to get up; "I don't like this, Null."
|
"It'll be fine." He
reassured her.
The man sounded sure, but Sebille's doubts could not be eased so simply.
