Things seemed to have gone
back to normal.
A little too normal for Sebille's tastes.
|
She sighed and put down
her cup.
|
"What is it?"
|
His eyes moved to her:
"Hmm?"
|
"Don't take me for a fool,
Null"
|
"I know you, and I know
you want to tell me something you're finding awfully difficult to say."
|
Null was quiet.
"Don't ever mistake me for being stupid either, I know it's about your
work."
|
Null just looked at her,
he seemed more relaxed now than just a minute ago, and also somewhat
impressed.
He sneered amusedly.
|
"So, now... What is it?"
Sebille wasn't liking this.
|
He pulled her back close
to himself again, and Sebille didn't really know what to make of it.
|
"Null?"
"You say my name differently."
He changed the subject, and she was expecting the worst... it had become a
habit, a bad habit, and she didn't really like feeling like this.
|
"I don't hear you telling
me what I want to know..."
" ..."
|
"I need to be
somewhere..."
|
"Absolutely need to be?"
"...Yes."
It was just as she'd feared. He would be running off again.
"For long?"
"No."
|
She crossed her legs.
Hoping that he had a similar definition of 'long' as she did.
|
"Well, you'd probably
better be going there, then."
" ..."
"Hop to it."
|
He seemed a little sorry
when he left.
Sebille was used to this, but even vaguely knowing what Null did would be
enough worry anyone close to him.
|
She watched him leave just
as silently as he always moved.
|
Be safe.
