Awakening

The spellcasters were gone.

"Llyr!?" she crawled towards the demon in desperation.

He had not moved, he didn't even seem to be breathing.

The orb the demon pair had brought was now black but Tanith didn't know what it meant.

"Llyr?" she tried again, carefully.

His eyes opened.

The darkened orb rolled to the ground as the demon lifted his body.

For a moment, he sat still as his world spun.

He couldn't comprehend where he was or what had happened.

"Ughh..."

He was no longer cold and everything was so bright it almost blinded him. He saw unimaginable distances all at the same time and it made him nauseous.

Something was different.

He took a moment to focus his eyes on his hand.

His hands shook, "What's... happening to me!?" he managed in a hoarse voice.

Why wasn't he gone?

"Magic..." the female crawled closer, relieved to see him conscious.

"What... what did you do?" a hint of panic visited his tone.
"A spell, Kheperer and the boy... It's just magic, you've always had it, so..."
"Not like this!"

It welled up inside of him like a bomb ready to go off.

"How could you do this to me?"

A force, strong enough to explode at any moment was building up inside.

"I had no other choice."
"You should've let me go." he was ready to panic. This wasn't what he wanted.

"I can't control this power... this bloodlust..."

He needed to destroy and kill.

"Yes you can. If you stay calm you ca---"

She barely touched his hand.

But the demon pushed her hand away with force and speed he hadn't anticipated at all.

...

"Tanith... I didn't mean to--"

All of his urges and impulses were so strong he couldn't think straight. He was a a wild beast, struggling to keep his head straight. Struggling to keep his mind from drowning in a sea of destruction.

"Stop." she held his hand again.

"It doesn't matter."

"You need to leave with me."

Before the Hunter was onto them.
