Desucon Frostbite 2016 + DollShow 45 Winter

One of these events I attended physically, with the other I had to settle for stalking photos on twitter, lol~ ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ But I’m making a post of both at once since they were held on the same weekend.

But anyway, Desucon Frostbite was held in Lahti from the 15th to 17th this year. This is my third year in a row that I’m attending the con. As it’s got an age limit of 18 years, there isn’t as much competition as with cons that are free for all ages, so I CAN actually get tickets there. With some other cons the tickets sell out in a few minutes and I’ve got no chance with those ’cause I always forget to be stalking for tickets, lol! (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖

Originally I planned to attend the con both on Saturday and Sunday, but I was only able to be there on Saturday after all. (｡•́︿•̀｡) Well, that was the most important day anyway, ’cause the guests of honour, Abe Atsushi and Oomori Takahiro had panels on that day. ヾ(＠^▽^＠)ﾉ I would’ve loved to see them both, but sadly the doll meet was at the same time as those panels… so I had to sacrifice one of them. (´；ω；`) I chose to go to the doll meet first and attend Oomori’s panel as he’s directed some of my all-time favourite anime series, like Natsume Yuujinchou and Baccano!. It would’ve been lovely to see Abe, too, but… sadly there’s no possibility to clone yourself (yet at least) to be in two places at once, lol!（　´∀｀）

I arrived to the venue around 10am and first I was a bit confused about the meet up location… because I thought I knew where it was, but nobody was there when I arrived so I wondered if I was at the wrong place after all. ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ) Luckily soon Pihlajakoto arrived and reassured me that we’re in the right place. We decided to go sit down and unpack our dolls and wait for others to arrive as well. Luckily soon people started arriving, including Petunia and Untuvikko. And bit by bit, more people came and it started looking more like a doll meet, hehe~ ヾ(´∀｀○)ﾉ

Because it was a con meet up, people came and went, so I didn’t get photos of all the dolls at the meet (and I failed royally with some photos ’cause my hands were shaking… I always get nervous when meeting new people, so I’m a shaking, blushing and babbling mess lol) and we didn’t have an introduction round either, so I don’t know who all the dolls belonged to. ฅ(๑’Δ’๑) But I have some photos to publish… mostly at meet ups I tend to forget taking photos and just talk to people ’cause it’s a rare treat to get to talk with so many dolly hobbyists at once, haha~ … although, I always go on and on about cats, too, if I know that there are cat people around, ahem… (-∀-`; )

I had a lot of fun at the meet up, too bad that my time was cut short because I had to hurry to see Oomori’s panel so I didn’t get to talk with everyone. But hopefully there’ll be more dolly meets in the future to attend! ~ヾ(＾∇＾) I was also super flattered because I got compliments on Megu-tan’s outfit and I also had people come tell me that they read my blog! Thank you so much for your kind words, everyone~ (人´ω｀*)♡ I feel a bit bad that I’ve been terrible at blogging lately and I have so many backlogged posts from 2015 still as well, ahah…

But yeah, my next stop was Oomori’s panel. It was very interesting to listen to, and of course it was the most interesting to hear about those favourite shows of mine~ (｡’▽’｡)♡ Although, in the end the panel was 70% about series that I haven’t watched or know only by name, ahah… even though I feel like I’ve watched a lot of anime over the years, there are still a lot that I haven’t watched. If only we had more hours in a day, haha…（　´∀｀）

After the panel, I went to the Artist Alley and bought two pairs of mittens from Pihlajakoto‘s table for Megu-tan and RenRen. (ﾉ≧∀≦)ﾉ Thankfully her table was at the end of the Artist Alley, because it was super crowded and I had no chance going anywhere towards the middle of it… especially since I was carrying Megu-tan in my arms, so I was hesitant to dive into the crowd. ( ´△｀) So instead, I stayed over at Pihlajakoto‘s table for a while to chat with her (as she’d had to leave the meet up rather soon since she had to go set up her table). The crowd was still pretty thick, so I decided to go see if there were any cute plushies or other stuff available at the big sales hall. My mom had warned me that I wasn’t allowed to bring back any “plushies or creatures”, but I was determined to ignore that order if I’d found something “must have”. But this year I didn’t manage to spot anything that called out to me, so I didn’t have to come up with excuses, ahah… (๑´ㅂ`๑)

While I was venturing in the sales hall, I spotted Kwii! What a nice surprise~ Σ(ノ°▽°)ノ I stayed by the table to chat with her for a while, and also accompanied her to buy a bag. I’d completely missed the bags earlier and I must admit I was tempted to buy a cool bag, too, but I held it in. After that I stayed to chat with Kwii a bit more (mostly about Haikyuu!! lol), but since my driver had set a deadline at 2pm, I decided to head to try and see if I could get to see the stuff sold at Artist Alley. Luckily this time there was a smaller crowd, so I barely managed to squeeze through… but there were still quite a lot of people and I always think that I wouldn’t want to block the way, so I didn’t really stop for long to browse the selection… (●ฅ́дฅ̀●) I didn’t get to see the tables on the other side of the corridor well at all, I just barely caught a glimpse of this super cool One Punch Man print with Saitama and Genos~ (*≧∀≦*) I would’ve liked to see that up close, but alas… I’m too shy to just push through, ahah. (。´д｀。)

After that I decided to use the remaining time trying to spot some of my cosplaying friends. I never seem to be able to spot Jesmoth despite my efforts, ahah… ヾ(´▽｀*;)ゝ” Well, maybe one of these years I’ll manage to find her in the crowd… But! I did manage to spot Meital in her Rikka cosplay and got to talk with her a bit! *(*´∀｀*)☆ Yaaay~ I was really happy about that because I haven’t been able to meet her in person until now~ (´ ▽｀).。ｏ♡

I didn’t have much time left after that, so I went to look for a place to sit… and luckily I found an empty seat so I was able to sit down and rest my feet. My driver was late from her 2pm deadline, so I had to do some Y!J bidding on my phone… that was quite nerve-wrecking! (( ´∀`;)) But at least Sibeliustalo has got wi-fi. When I was at Tracon last year, you couldn’t even send text messages let alone browse stuff online because there was so signal inside Tamperetalo. That really sucked.（；¬＿¬) I, of course, had to report everything that I’d been doing to Yenna as well. As I was chatting with her, I heard a familiar voice say “She’s so absorbed into her phone that she won’t notice anything” and looked up to see Petunia and Untuvikko, haha~ （　´∀｀） We chatted for a bit (mostly about cats, obviously). Since I was waiting for my driver to arrive at any minute, I didn’t go anywhere and stayed at my comfortable little seat. But in the end I ended up waiting for my driver ’til 3 pm… so, I could have gone see the otoge lecture that interested me – but then again, I’m pretty sure that they wouldn’t have talked about Tokimemo GS or Suta✩Suka there because I have trouble finding fellow fans even online, lol… (´つヮ⊂)

But well, all in all I had a good time! Ｏ(≧▽≦)Ｏ 2/3 Frostbites have been really awesome for me, I’m definitely attending again in 2017! I’m also tempted by the idea of trying to grab a table at the Artist Alley to sell some dolly clothes there… but I’d definitely need a friend to help me mind the table. /not-so-subtle hints at Yenna ヾ(*ゝω・*)ノ

The release that I was the most curious seeing, was Sera of the Green Gables. I don’t have a Sera in my neemo family yet as I haven’t found the “perfect one” for me, so I was really curious to see this one as the Japanese title hinted that she’d have red hair… and I don’t have red haired neemos yet either, so I thought that maybe she’ll be “the one” for me – and THANKFULLY the regular edition is the red haired one and she’s got that slightly frowny mouth that I adore. (人´ω｀*)♡ Eeepp! I must pre-order her! o(≧∇≦o) The only thing that worries me a bit is her hair… the braids seem kinda coarse and messy already on that prototype – I wonder how they’ll look on the actual dolls. ~( ´•︵•` )~ But messy braids problem should be easier to fix than for example Princess Nina’s bobcut…

They also had Blue Bird Tsukiha and Sorane on display. At first I wanted to order them, but then I thought that I probably liked the clothes more than the dolls themselves, ahah… I’ve already got three XS-size girls so I think I shouldn’t get more.（’-’*) I’d need a boy, though, but Sorane looks a bit timid for the character I have in mind, so I probably won’t get him either. Unless a miracle happens and I find them for cheap on the aftermarket, but I doubt it, ahah! (๑´ㅂ`๑)

A new Sahra’s a la Mode series, Twinkle! a la Mode is also starting this year~ (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ The first girl is Maya. I wasn’t terribly interested in this release at first, although I really like the DS version’s white dress… until I saw some tweets by Japanese neemo owners and went back to read the signs next to Maya – they are actually WHITE SKIN!!! Σ(ﾟﾛﾟ｣)｣ It’s pretty huge, because so far the only Pureneemo out of Azone’s original character dolls that has been released in White skin is Raili – because she’s an exchange student from Finland, hehe~ ( ´艸｀) But now we have Maya here who is White skin, omg!!! ヾ(*’Ｏ’*)ｲ And if they’re releasing Maya in White skin, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that the rest of the Sahra’s a la Mode girls in this series – Sahra, Alisa, Lycee and Yuzuha – will ALL be released in White skin. Which means, if I was only interested in Yuzuha and Alisa at first, I now must have them all because I have none of them in White skin yet! Auughhh Azone sure knows how to trap me… teaches me to never think that I’m safe. ミ(ノ_ _)ノ I thought I was imagining it when Maya seemed paler than the other girls in the photos, but I reasoned that it must’ve been the light… however, it’s not. She’s actually White skin.

R.I.P. wallet. Yet again. (´･Д･lll)ゞ

Another big news in the neemo-verse is that, with the release of the second character doll in Hetalia The World Twinkle series, England, Azone is coming out with S-size boy body! (*ﾟ◯ﾟ*) There have only been XS-size boys so far, so this is a pretty huge deal as well! I know nothing about Hetalia and am not interested in this doll, but… if this means that someday in the future we can hope for more Azone original character boys, then I’ll be in heaven! (♡´❍`♡)*✧ ✰ ｡* Oh please, please, please make M-size boys too! And L-size, now that would be something! My Kasumi is on L-size body and she’d definitely need a boyfriend! I was already fangirling over the possibility of more Azone original boys, such as Koron’s and Himeno’s big brothers, with Peach-san on twitter, ahah~ (♡´艸`)

One more thing that caught me off guard… was how cute the Sunny Bunny Date Kikipops are! Σ(`･Д･ﾉ)ﾉ Or, mainly the brunette one with the lovely chocolate brown dress. I was so certain that I wouldn’t get a Kikipop doll UNLESS Azone released my favourite KJ doll, Jill, but… brunettes are my weakness, aughh! o(*´д`*)o And like I said earlier, seeing Petunia‘s cute Nuppu has made me think that Kiki’s face is actually quite adorable… like I’m totally immune to all things pastel – even though I like seeing other people’s dolls in pastel coordinates, they just don’t work for me. And all the Kikipops so far have been all pastels galore. And now they very EVILLY release this kind of a brunette cutie with an earthy colour palette and I’m all… ドキドキ！(oﾐﾟﾛﾟﾐ)o That darned bunny hood cape is so adorable, too. I’m gonna seriously have to consider this… I’m quite curious about the Kikipop bodies, I’d love to try my hand at making clothes for them… … Augh, whyyyy?! Must. stay. strong. . . . . . . ₍₍ (̨̡ ‾᷄⌂‾᷅)̧̢ ₎₎
