Sunshine child arrives

And today we have another new arrival, ahah… but there’s a neemo that I’ve been looking for since last year, and finally one popped up at a reasonable price when I was online, so of course I couldn’t resist ordering. ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و I’d just earned some money and poof it was gone, ahah… But I’m happy because this particular doll is one of my most favourite neemos~（*´▽｀*）♥

However, the reason why she was so reasonably priced considering how rare they seem to be these days (and mostly go for 25000-30000yen) was that her hair had damage. ヾ(´･ ･｀｡)ノ” It didn’t look too bad in the photos and I thought that well, I’ll have to see what it looks like in person and if there’s anything I can do to fix it. Because I’ve been planning on getting twins of this particular sculpt and thought that in the worst case scenario, if the hair isn’t fixable, I’ll have to cut it. ヽ(￣д￣;)ノ So I wasn’t a 100% sure which twin this doll would end up being, until I received the package.

Postal service’s summer workers are completely lost it seems, I went to the backyard to read a book while I waited for the mailman ’cause it’s now nice & warm outside. Our building’s parking lot is in the backyard as well, 99.9999% of people who come here realise to drive to the backyard. So, I spent like an hour reading and yet the mailman was nowhere to be seen. I checked the tracking, and it claimed that the mailman had visited half an hour earlier. ∑（´△｀○） Oookay, I saw no mailman so either a) they weren’t gonna deliver it at all b) they tried the front yard’s door. Well, I went inside, although I left the backyard’s door open, just to be sure… did some cleaning and had the balcony door open, when I hear this beep sound that big trucks make when they reverse – looked out and of course it was the postal service’s truck. So I ran down the stairs because I was afraid that the mailman would come up to the locked door and run away, but when I got there, the door was open. And then the mailman told me he’d come by earlier and ran the doorbell but no one answered. Yeah, nope, ’cause I was out on the backyard, gahh! Summer employees… oh well, I did get the package home and didn’t have to wait ’til, like, 4pm for them to move it to the PO so that I could go get it myself. So bizarre that the front yard’s door was open, though, as all this building’s doors should be locked 24/7/365. ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ)

Oh well, let’s move onto the box opening photos:

So, at this point I was like… yeap, it looks pretty bad. But let’s not cut it just yet, I’ll try pouring hot water on it first and see if that makes any difference… well, I tend to boil water every time I receive a neemo with straight hair as the fibers are often all bent and mushed since they’ve spent time in the box… and of course, I have to repeat the hot water treatment at times since the hair can get bent again, especially if I pack the dolls and take them somewhere… or if they sit on their hair or whatever. But yeah, ONLY use hot water to straighten your Azone doll’s hair! And be careful when pouring it so that you don’t get any on your fingers/hands… I usually pop the doll’s head off the body and stick it on a doll stand to keep the water away from my hand, lol (I once burned my thumb and it wasn’t fun). Perhaps I should make a blog post about this process with photos sometime… but yeah, I boiled some water to see how the frizz on Himeno’s hair reacts:

Since last year I knew that I wanted Ookami-san Himeno and I’d thought about naming her Hinata. Then later I became fond of the Tick Tock Rabbit Himeno and especially loved the fact that Himeno was also sold with the osumashi-mouth, so I thought that I’ll get the osumashi Himeno at some point as Hinata’s twin, Haruna. But finding a reasonably priced Ookami-san Himeno has been quite difficult, since I absolutely wanted the outfit as well… last year there were like, three Ookami-san Himenos on Mandarake for 18000 yen, but as I was saving for my grail, Usagi-san Miu, I couldn’t get one then. ~( ´•︵•` )~ And of course when I finally had Miu at home and would’ve been able to buy Himeno, all of them were sold out. ヽ(￣д￣;)ノ I’ve come across a couple of auctions for Himeno, but she seems to be really popular ’cause the price always climbed up to 22000 yen and more, and I just didn’t want to pay that much… especially with the auction, shipping & customs fees. So finally finding this one with damaged hair BUT the complete outfit for a reasonable price was like… amazing! Σ(゜゜) I thought that if the hair cannot be saved and I have to cut it… instead of Hinata, I’ll make this one Haruna. And since I’d wanted the osumashi-mouth version of the Tick Tock Rabbit Himeno as Haru, I thought that… well, I’m gonna hack this doll’s hair anyway, I might as well change her mouth while I’m at it. (-∀-`; ) With Naru I already tried customising the face for a bit, so I had a little experience on that…

After a looooot of hair cutting and mouth modification, here is Haruna:

While it would’ve been nice to get two different Himenos, I suppose for identical twins it’s more appropriate if they’re the same doll… and well, after Haruna’s haircut and changed mouth, they’re going to look a bit different from each other anyway. Now I just need to find another Ookami-san Himeno to purchase and make her into Hinata. Luckily nude ones pop up for sale more often than fullset ones… the most important thing is that I have the outfit secured now, waiting for Hina~ And Haru is definitely fun to have, her serious expression is so cute! Sometimes she even looks a bit more smiley or grumpy, haha~（　´∀｀）

The Himeno twins have a sunshine theme for their names, so the kanji are as follows:
陽暖 Hinata = first kanji is for “sunlight, sunshine” and the second one is “warmth”, so the meaning can be interpreted as “warm sunlight”
陽夏 Haruna = the first kanji is the same “sunlight, sunshine” as in Hina’s name and the second is “summer”, so the meaning is “summer sunshine”

Hopefully it won’t be too long until younger sister Hinata joins the crew! ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ Hinata is friends with Sachiko and Kotori, they spend a lot of time together in school as well as during freetime. Haruna is also in the same class with them and she does get along with Sachi and Kotori, but she mostly prefers to keep to herself. She’s very interested in everything technical and likes to take machines apart. She once took apart Hinata’s bicycle, and Hina wasn’t too happy about that, haha! (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖ Hopefully at some point I’ll find a 1/6 scale toolbox for Haruna, that would be so cute~ (´ ▽｀).。ｏ♡
