Summary of 2014

The year is coming to an end and I doubt I’ll be making any new orders this year, so I thought that I’d make a post about my purchases in 2014. I’ve certainly gained many new additions into my collection, ahah. xD;; I don’t really know how this happened…

… I suppose that’s everything, ahah. xD;;; It’s scary making these lists because it shows how many things I’ve actually bought in one year. All hail layaways, lol! :’D And I’ve had some luck getting good deals, too. And now for some detailed blabber about these – although I don’t have that much to say about all of them, I don’t think. But anyway, read if you’d like: 
 
 

BJD

Supiadoll Minisup girl body
One of my oldest doll crushes has been Minisup Yisol. I originally wanted to get her as Mi Cha, but when I was seriously starting to think about buying her, I looked around for some owner photos… which are quite scarce, unfortunately. >_>;; And I managed to find one comparison with a Narae, and it seemed like Yisol has a much bigger and longer face in coparison, which made her head look bigger in general. Compared to Narae. And I’m really bothered by this kind of stuff, so I didn’t want to risk not liking her in person… so I looked for an alternative and found one in Withdoll’s Cathy. Luckily I was able to hybridise the Cathy head on the Minisup girl body with no problem, because I really, really did not wanna give up the body. It’s so pretty and has a waist joint. ♥ Withdoll’s own girl body is a bit small for Cathy in my eyes, because the Cathy head is a bit bigger than the other girl heads… and well, it has that awful chest joint, too. -.-;; Me and Yenna have asked if they’d consider making a waist joint for the new version of the girl body, but we’ll have to see. They’re first working on the 60cm girl body and only then can concentrate on renewing the 40cm girl body. But yeah, Mi Cha as a whole has become one of my favourite dolls, so I’m veeeery happy about purchasing her. *___* ♥

Art Bimong Narae N40S
I wanted to get this head as Yun Hee’s alternative expression, because the new N40S sculpt looked similar enough to N416, but with a smile… because Yun is supposed to be a smiley girl — for reference, the perfect sculpt for her would be Oasisdoll Linglang, she has the sweetest smile — and the Dreamer Narae is quite serious. xD;; But it’s still my favourite Narae sculpt and I love her, so I wouldn’t wanna give her up. But anyway, I had high hopes for the head… but yeah, since the dolls are being cast by a different company YET AGAIN – the resin match was awful. Bimong uses this really dark, orangey pink for NS Naraes now… Yun is veeery pale and pinkish, so a much darker head was a big no. I couldn’t blush her neck to match the new head ’cause then her original head would not match the body — and I definitely wouldn’t want to match her pretty pale skintone to the new dark orange head… so I ended up selling the head. Yun is such a rare colour ’cause she was cast during the time when D-storic was adjusting their colours… she doesn’t match any of my other D-storic Narins and Naraes either. So I’ll never be able to get her another head – and I surely don’t wanna trade her for a completely new N416 as I’ve modded her face and I’m not sure if I could get her to look the same again, so… no additional heads for her. Well, perhaps one day I’ll be able to get that Oasisdoll Linglang as an SD-sized version of her, so then I’d have a perfect Yun.

Doll Chateau Russel
This odd fox-like humanoid creature fascinated me ever since it was first introduced. Generally I’m not a big fan of animal dolls and Russel’s human face was sorta creepy to me to be honest — but I had an idea of doing a mod to make the face more animal-like in Pokemon style, and I really liked it. At first I thought that I’d never be able to get one as it was just an event gift… and while Doll Chateau has some fascinating dolls, they’re not for me. I like looking at well done customisations and photos of them, but I wouldn’t want to buy one myself. But thankfully jeeryama sold a few Russels on eBay, so me and Yenna decided to order two of them together. I quickly came up with a role for mine, she’d be Apate’s pet, Io. A little strange creature from the moon who loves round things and rolls them home. xD She took around six months to arrive, but I really liked her when I got her — and the mod turned out well, even if I was afraid of sanding her face at first. Unfortunately the weather has been awful most of the autumn and winter, so her painting is still only around 40% done. :/ I was without my airbrushing gear for a while, too, so I kinda lost interest… I hope that the weather would get better starting next year, so that I’d finally get Io finished and could photograph her with her mistress. >_>

Withdoll Aiden
After I’d sold Apate and Moros’ old shells, I thought that I’d concentrate on human dolls for a while. I really liked Aiden and he made a really lovely new Seiga… only after I got him home, I realised that I should have not ordered him in Cream White after all. After getting paper white heads from D-storic and Withdoll as well as the beautiful peachy pale white from Supiadoll, I realised that I don’t really like a yellowish white tone anymore. And I also really started liking Mai after Withdoll released the basic “twins” version of him… and for the character that I’d like to get as Mai, I’d need him to have a darker skintone, and because I’m lazy and cheap I thought he might as well share a body with Seiga— I decided to sell the CW Aiden and buy him again with a Mai head in Brown Tan later. Only, the summer was full of surprises and I fell back into the damned pit of hopelessness that is limited dolls… so Aiden and Mai as basic dolls had to wait. And now Withdoll is unable to cast urethane brown tan, so I’ll have to settle with normal skin. Because I just don’t like French resin, the look and feel of it… it’s just not my thing. I’m glad for those who aren’t bothered by the translucency of it, but I just don’t want to own it. Ever. So yeah, atm I’m not sure when exactly I’ll get Seiga back…

Withdoll Elf Hunter Emma
The first of the limited dolls that doomed me this year. >_>;; When I sold Angela, Apate’s previous shell, I’d started toying around with the idea that Emma would make a lovely new Apate… if only she had elf ears. So I decided to ask Withdoll if they’d consider making an Elf version of Emma with long elf ears – and they said that they’d consider it. In spring 2014 they then confirmed that they’d be releasing Elf Emma and Ruby in the autumn. Only their release happened already in the summer as their 60cm girl got pushed back. And of course, Elf Emma was perfect so I had to order her. And I’ve been really happy with her. ;u; ♥ Although, in a way it’s a shame that I’m now stuck with limited dolls again, but at least this new sculpt is perfect for Apate. Angela was a really quick decision, and usually when I make that kind of impulse purchases, they don’t end up staying… but Emma I had time to think about for a while, so she ended up working out for me~

Withdoll Ruby head
And since I’d ordered Emma, I figured I’d get a Ruby head to share Mi Cha’s body… to see if she’d work for Hisoka’s little sister, Aimi. I’m not a 100% happy with her face up so I’m not entirely sure if I like her yet… and I’ve been lazy to sew her lolita dresses, too, ahah… but hopefully in spring I’ll have better luck with her face up and she’ll inspire me more. I’m not thinking of selling her, though, but I don’t feel that inspired to do much with her either. I’m a bit reluctant to have her borrow Mi Cha’s body because she’s my princess… I feel bad when Mi Cha is bodyless. xD So I probably need to get Aimi a body of her own. But I definitely need to wait for a new version of WD’s body, I really don’t want another of the current type…

Soom Faery Legend Asis
My favourite fairy ever. Soom had a Post MD event and Yenna pointed out that Asis was a part of it – so we both decided to try out for Asis. I was sure that I’d never be able to win her because I have terrible luck with lotteries and such… but to my greatest surprise, both Yenna and me won her. So we asked Soom to ship our fairies together, so we brainstormed a background story for them and decided to make them twin sisters. I was really looking forward to photographing them together. But when they arrived, things started going downhill. First there was trouble with gluing the magnets, so her other wing got broken in the process of trying to remove the magnet. I did get a new pair of wings quickly from Soom, but they didn’t include the correct magnets. I had to order some from eBay and they took over a month to arrive. Also, I was really annoyed how Asis’ head was a lovely pale white, but her body was much more yellow and shiny in comparison. Because as seen with Aiden, I’m not a big fan of Cream White anymore. So my planned colour theme didn’t work out for her… and then I started thinking about darker colours to make her appear whiter (because pale colours just made her look yellow), but then I started thinking that perhaps I’d rather want the doll in a completely different skintone after all. :/ Soom has had one FCS for the fairies already, although it did not include gray skin… but I’m hoping that for the next one, Asis will be included in it and gray skin as well. Because after thinking about it, gray would be the perfect skin colour for her considering my plans and her background story. So, I sold the CW Asis and now hope that I’ll be able to get her in gray skin eventually. Because it would be a shame to waste mine and Yenna’s fairy twin sister plans completely… and I really do love Asis, her face, ears, wings and legs… she’s the perfect package. ♥

Souldoll Tarot Kyron
I hadn’t really been following Souldoll this summer because I’d been so busy with Withdoll’s releases and the Soom lottery… but Aatos linked me Kyron and Devonia one night and I was all gahhh – because they were both so cool with their optional parts and they had lovely faces. Well, Devonia took a while to warm up to but with Kyron it was instant love. D: I hesitated for a bit because Withdoll had said that they’d be releasing an Elf boy soon… so I wasn’t sure whether to buy Kyron or wait for Withdoll. Kyron definitely had a mature, pretty face that I wanted for Moros – and a huge plus was that he’d be tall. Because WD girls are quite tall with their insane heels… I always had to take Apate’s shoes off whenever I put him next to the old Moros, because otherwise she’d be as tall as him. xD;; And I really prefer my girls to be shorter than my boys, ahah… soo, yeap. Souldoll had a really tempting event with the free shipping, too. But when Withdoll told me that their Elf boy would have a younger look, I went and ordered Kyron. And later on when I saw photos of Withdoll’s Ash, he was quite baby-faced — pretty, but too young for Moros — I was happy with my decision. Kyron cost me a fortune with all his parts and I decided to get the wings too because they had blue in them… and then that expensive wig, as well. I’d loved to have got his outfit, too, but I could no longer afford it. xD;; I’ve been quite happy with him, apart from the skintone and a few more issues that I mentioned in his BO post. But I definitely feel like he’s the perfect choice for Moros. He’s so mature and has a tall and manly body. Even if the NL body’s joints are useless. But I do love him lots. xD And those wings~ ♥ Damn limited dolls, but damn do I love him… xD

Withdoll Stacy
Ever since the release of the Ice Cream Children, I’ve been curious about WD’s tiny line. They look quite cute in photos and seemed like great posers. Strawberry has been my favourite, and now they re-released her as part of the Werewolf Babies, as Stacy. So I thought that I’d order her and see how I like her. The only problem is, after getting Azone Pureneemo dolls, I haven’t been that keen on small BJDs. Well, I never cared for tinies much to be honest, I’ve sold all that I’ve bought, apart form Alisa. Stacy is smaller at 16cm but her head is quite big… well, it’s a trademark for the tinies in that size range, but I’m not sure if I like it in person… because I don’t really care for bobbleheaded dolls anymore. xD;;; I’ll have to see how she looks with a face up and clothes before making a decision of keeping her or not. Feeling rather unsure about her atm.

Souldoll Berial human
Gahh, Souldoll really killed me this year with beautiful dolls. There were a few Zeniths that I liked, then came Kyron and Devonia and after them – bam! Berial. And after Berial Justitia with her gorgeous armour — and because she has connections to Greek mythology as Justitia is the Roman equivalent of Dike who is the titaness Themis’ daughter — too many beautiful dolls one after another! xD;; I wish I’d been able to get them all, but sadly it just isn’t possible… but anyway, Berial. I’ve bought so many dolls this year that I had to wait for a bit before ordering him… ’cause I wanted to order him on the last day so that I’d have more time to pay him off, lol. xD But in the morning of 5th, which was the final order date for Berial in sandy brown, he was already sold out. It was like, 7am in Finland so it was around 3-4pm in Korea, and I thought that he’d be up until midnight Korean time for sure… so I was really sad and frustrated to see him listed as sold out. I contacted Souldoll right away, and they said that they closed the order period early because they’d received so many orders for him. But I proceeded to write to them saying I was really looking forward to ordering Berial in sandy brown ’cause I’d been waiting for a chance to get a sandy brown Vito man for a long time and Berial’s face was just perfect – and they should’ve included a disclaimer “the ordering period may close early if we receive a high number of orders” so I would’ve known to be more careful and ordered him a few days before. I had to wait over the weekend for their reply, but a few people on DoA had said that Souldoll had still given them a chance to order Berial because they’d asked about him right away — and luckily they set up an ordering page for me as well, so in the end I was able to order him, phew. ;__; ♥ I was already sad about missing out on Soom’s Hornblend in summer because the Post MD event was at the same time and I couldn’t afford both him and the fairy at the same time… so I would’ve been extremely disappointed to miss out on Berial too. Because I got him as Saki’s husband, Yoshiki. I’d been hoping for a tan Idealian51 or a Vito guy, and I liked Hornblend a lot… and now Berial was even more perfect because his facial features are sorta similar to one of my oldest doll loves, Limho Mono. xD Just more manly and grown up, haha. Well, Idealian51 would probably be better propotion-wise as Narae’s partner because they both have 6-7inch heads… Vito guys have 7-8inch heads. But hopefully it won’t bother me too much. Berial is so pretty, after all — and I’ll finally get a proper double jointed body from Souldoll! \o/ I’m really looking forward to him, the size seems fascinating… like a really tall MSD, haha. xD Thankfully this time I didn’t need any of the fantasy parts, even though those horns and spear would’ve been lovely… but yeah, Yoshiki is just a human, so the doll was enough for me. :3 He’ll be a sexy tattooed bartender~ ♥  
 
 

Azone

Ex Cute Komorebimori no Doubutsutachi Haru Usagi Mia
I’d been wanting an Azone doll since 2011 when I saw the Days of May version of Alisa. But back then I couldn’t afford to order her during her pre-order so sadly I had to pass on her… then I resisted a couple more years, but at the end of 2013 I entertained the thought of getting an Azone doll for a while. But I didn’t dare to look into it much because I was sure I’d order one if I did proper research. And I had my hands full with BJDs anyway. But, in spring 2014 I felt that it might finally be the right time to buy a Pureneemo – and once I saw this particular version of Mia for pre-order, I just couldn’t resist any longer. Mia has such a sweet, gentle expression and I really loved every piece of her outfit – and she was a bunny, too, that’s always a plus. xD So, I ordered her and I’ve been extremely happy with her~ ♥ Only now afterwards I regret that I cut her bangs before I realised that I could style them with wax… so I’m thinking of buying another head for her, although the ones at Y!J tend to be quite expensive and I haven’t seen other places sell only heads of this particular doll. >.>;;

Sahra’s a la Mode Sweets a la Mode Cream Anmitsu Yuzuha
I thought that Alisa would end up being my second Pureneemo for sure, but I was wrong. xD Alisa, Miu, Mia and Yuzuha had ended up becoming my most favourite girls as I’d browsed through photos… and the Sweets a la Mode waitresses had really cute outfits, so I thought that at some point I’d definitely want a couple of those. And suddenly I came across a sales post for Cream Anmitsu Yuzuha on flickr, realised that she was in Europe so I wouldn’t have to pay customs fees AND the doll’s price was really reasonable too, so I ended up buying her. And I’m really glad that I did, because she’s sooo pretty. xD I’ve definitely photographed her most out of my girls, ahah~ ♥ I really love her with her dark hair, so many of the girls that I have or want have blond or otherwise light hair. :D;; It’s a nice change to have one with a darker hair colour. ^^

Sahra’s a la Mode Sweets a la Mode Marron Parfait Alisa
After Yuzuha I thought that NOW I need to buy Alisa, since she’s the one that I wanted to begin with. xD I’d been looking at the Marron Parfait version and fallen in love with her even more than my original Alisa love, Days of May. And I thought that I really, really wanted a short haired girl, as I already had two with long hair. I was momentarily tempted by the Afternoon Peach Tea version, but I thought that buying one with pink hair would be risky at this point, ’cause I don’t care much for pastel hair colours for my BJDs either… and with Azone’s you can’t exactly change their hair that easily, lol. xD Not to mention I didn’t really like the green eyes + pink hair combo, if she’d had blue or brown eyes I would’ve gone for her for sure… but yeah, Marron Parfait version won because I thought that I’d like a second waitress to work alongside Yumei. And she had nice short hair, of course, and a reeeeally cute outfit. x3 I also spotted one for sale for really cheap at Amazon.jp, so I quickly gathered the money and brought her home. ♥ She’s definitely become my new favourite version of Alisa, although someday I’d like to have Alisa with long hair, too, haha… xD

Ex Cute Komorebimori no Doubutsutachi Usagi-san Miu
Ever since I bought Usagi-Mia, I thought that I’d love to get Usagi-Miu as her little sister… since they were both bunnies and Miu is soooo damn cute. ;__; And especially because all my three other girls ended up having green eyes, and many on my wishlist also have green eyes – I thought that I’d definitely want this version of Miu because of her beautiful light blue eyes. >.< ♥ Tracking her down wasn't an easy task because I barely saw her for sale at all and when I did, the price was usually around 32000-45000 yen, ouch. >.>;; I checked various Japanese websites daily and nearly lost my sanity trying to find her for a decent price… so when I finally saw her for sale for 30000 yen at Mandarake, I decided to bite the bullet and buy her – to make sure I get her. I was so tired of doing my daily check up routine, so this way I was finally able to have my mind at peace, haha. xD When she arrived it was one of those “wow I can’t believe it, I finally actually have this doll” moments… and she was even cuter in person. ;u; ♥ I do love those pretty blue eyes of hers~ And I finally got S-type body, all my other girls are M-type. :3 Now I just need a Mio to be Mia and Miu’s big sister and the family will be complete. x3 ♥ 
 
 

Whew… I feel like I’ve been writing forever. xD;; Perhaps I’ll write a continuation post later, ahah. Yeah, I’ll probably do that… after all, here at my parents’ I have a kitty companion so I’d rather play with him that sit at the laptop, lol!
