We had our traditional Hanami meet at the local apple tree orchard yesterday. The weather wasn’t the best around, but at least it didn’t rain and the sun even made a few short appearances, so we managed some decent photos. I also had Delmia with me, but I’ll post her photos in another entry.

Time for my spring ritual again, this time it’s with Hexia (for the first time). Yay! She isn’t as impressive outfit-wise but man does the location suit her. :3 There’s some repetition cause I couldn’t narrow them down.
And just for comparisons sake, here are all the previous spring shoots in this location I have done:
Cold Spring (2018, Sigrun), Only Death (2017, Sigrun), Magical Green (2016, Iria), All Dead Here (2015, Prisca), Jorougumo (2014, Yami), Entangled (2013, Sigrun), Death Wood (2012, Prisca)
If you study the shoots carefully, you’ll see that there are changes to the landscape in each one. Most notably the fallen trees: every year there’s at least one new one. This year there were several (but some of them were above me, as they’d fallen against another tree) courtesy to the snowfall last month where the snow was really wet (=heavy) and it snowed like 30-40cm within 48 hours. That broke a lot of trees (including the one that Hex poses against) that in turn either squished the smaller bushes or just left them standing all bent. Nobody uses that path anymore -not for years since before I started using it, so nobody comes to chop the trees up to move them out of the way. The spruce forest in the beginning of the path has gotten pretty wild too and I keep getting poked when I try to shoot. At some point it’ll grow over and I won’t be able to shoot there anymore.

Aand now some newer photos. Rushed outside when it was snowing a lot yesterday, but unfortunately it stopped after the first poses and then I lost inspiration. But I do really like a few of these. :3

I took these some weeks ago but forgot to post them. Not very happy with them either because the forest was kind of ugly, but since I went through the trouble…

I’m not very happy with these photos, but they’re the only ones I have with autumn colours and I made the effort to actually go out for photos of Seere in this dress, so… And big thanks to Turre for the ride and company. (Also mizya and Petra who joined us)

These are also part of the nude series, featuring Yami this time. I took these earlier in the month.

I have some Yuyu & friends photos from this same weekend as well, but I haven’t managed to edit them yet. It’s a pain sitting in front of the computer.. it’s effin’ 29°C in my room (and it’s even hotter outside) and although I have a fan blowing at me non-stop, I’m dying. If I leave here it’s even worse. =__= Finnish houses are not built to keep the heat outside. I have zero energy to do anything whatsoever, and yet I’d have a ton of things to do. Mainly working on commissions, but it takes all my energy to just not die. I’m not built for this weather either.
Anyway, mizya‘s Ren is visiting in these photos. We worked on her swimsuit together the day before and then took both beach babes to the lake. :P

Just something I wanted to try because she got some new hands and the outfit is already getting too warm for the weather. Wanted to take photos of it before it’s too late.

Doing my spring thing again. With Sigrun for the third time just because I’ve been itching to photograph her in this outfit that I finished a couple of weeks ago. I would’ve like to photograph her somewhere with rocks but I don’t have a place like that close by, except for the landfill area but the road there is still in bad condition after the winter. So, I decided this place is just as good. These are a bit repetitive because she is not a very stable poser and that scythe is heavy. At one point I was really concentrated on posing her and suddenly a frickin’ mouse ran right between her legs (under that fallen tree) all “squeak squeak squeak”! Geez, that scared the hell outta me. And a little later some bird suddenly flew right behind me into the bushes and fluttered around. I scolded it but it didn’t seem to listen. >:/ Like, animals, do u have to do surprise runs by me when I’m really concentrated on something? My heart does not like. (Birds are one thing but seriously, a mouse?)
There’s actually a reason Sigrun has Tanith’s scythe, but I’ve been really useless with my Llyr stories, so I haven’t explained it yet. Not that it’s an amazing reason for anything, but yeah.

Ahem, I knew there was a “snowstorm” coming today, so I was ready for some winter photos. Unfortunately the snow was kind of disappointing: instead of large snowflakes we got these really fast small ones in hordes. Luckily they did show up in photos, but half of them disappeared from the resized ones. < (｀^´)>
I also had some setbacks: right as I was going outside with dolls in both hands and props + accessories in my arms, I managed to drop Seere’s Cuprit crown and it snapped in half. I had to superglue it back on with all my winter gear on and I got all drenched in sweat even before I was outside. And out in the forest my reflector decided to resign. Sigh. Had to fix that when I went back inside but it was no use after the first half of the photos. It was also snowing so much that everything kept getting covered and wet.
Then, the shoot itself took a strange turn, as you can see below. Tanith, look what you’re making Llyr do now that you’re no longer here. (｡•́︿•̀｡)

I’ve had this idea for years. Actually ever since before I got Sigrun (but after I’d ordered her). I did a painting of her where she was riding a snow horse, so… yeah. Unfortunately I suck at ‘sculpting’ snow and the horse is more like a foal with weird proportions. And it’s tilted. I might re-do this some day or not. But I do like the Sigrun close ups here. It was really windy so her wig was flying and it gave this little extra “oomph” to the photos. :D
I also have a new doll (my grail DD I never thought I’d get), but I haven’t been able to afford to order wigs or think about eyes and I don’t know when she’ll have a body of her own or anything so, we’ll see when I introduce her. It’s not like she can’t borrow wigs but the eyes are a little more problematic. Especially because I’d like her to be at least half-demon and I want specific eyes for her which are nearly impossible to find at the moment. >_>
But anyway, Sigrun photos:

The woman was standing awkwardly in an unfamiliar room. They’d had their introductions just a moment before outside, after which she had taken off her outer garments in order to accomodate for the warmth of the house.

So, after yesterday’s doll meet myself, tursaantarha, Petunia & umizya headed to this stream called Korkeakoski (literally: high rapids) which is very close to the tea house. I’ve wanted to shoot here for a long time but it’s quite far from my home and not close to any other place I usually go to, so this was a great chance. Though, I would’ve been much happier with rubber boots and the doll I had planned on taking here in the first place. But this was a good preview to what I could do if I get to come back some time.
I got wet, my feet were on ice (took off my shoes and socks) and Yami got wet too. But there were wild raspberries we picked before the shoot so that was nice. xD I also only had a few poses and there weren’t too many possible angles without freezing my feet completely in the ice water so yeah. Some day I’ll go there again. ♥

Been feeling like taking some doll photos lately. I also have an idea for a story (Iria) but I’m not sure how to go about making it happen. It would require props I don’t have so I might need to improvise. But anyway, Sebille (and Null as a bonus) was my victim today. I’m loving her with her new(ish) Withdoll body and I’ve made her quite a bit of new clothes lately, so she gets to be in front of the camera too ♥
As this is a Sebille/Null shoot, it was given that it would derail at some point… and it did. It took me quite a while to move all my props to the balcony and set up and then I spent nearly 2 hours photographing. Would’ve been at it longer had the sun not started to give me trouble. And of course it got cloudy and started raining just as I was taking the set down. Sigh. =__=

(^ of independence)
I’m missing some seaside Saya photos from inbetween but I’ll post them eventually. I should go to my local beach with her soon, so maybe I’ll post those with the new ones -if I manage a shoot.
Today I’ll be posting some Sebille in a forest wearing a dress that’s way too fancy for the location. Haha. I needed a really Finnish scenery for this dress because it really reminds me of Finland (esp. our flag), and I’d had this place in mind for a while. I just needed a really sunny day for this. Usually I like to shoot when it’s cloudy, but this forest really looks best when it’s sunny, because the trees don’t let in a whole lot of light.
I’m really liking this shoot. It’s not amazing and I forgot my reflector so I had to do more editing that would’ve been necessary. But I had fun since it was the first proper shoot I’ve had in months (really slow doll-photography summer for me). I do like the light and colours and theme here. And Sebille is still one of my favorite dolls. ♥ ♥
This dress will be in my Etsy very soon, along with a small update of tops and shirts.
