… and the lack of it, lol. Went on a photography trip with local doll friends and the weather was a bit indecisive, so the colors and the light in these is all over the place. Also have to take some more Saya photos later.
We were a spectacle for local fishermen cause we drove to a marina for some peaceful photography (beaches way too full). Whenever we go out, at least one of us ends up explaining about dolls to random people, lol. xD
We had our traditional Hanami meet at the local apple tree orchard yesterday. The weather wasn’t the best around, but at least it didn’t rain and the sun even made a few short appearances, so we managed some decent photos. I also had Delmia with me, but I’ll post her photos in another entry.
I have some Yuyu & friends photos from this same weekend as well, but I haven’t managed to edit them yet. It’s a pain sitting in front of the computer.. it’s effin’ 29°C in my room (and it’s even hotter outside) and although I have a fan blowing at me non-stop, I’m dying. If I leave here it’s even worse. =__= Finnish houses are not built to keep the heat outside. I have zero energy to do anything whatsoever, and yet I’d have a ton of things to do. Mainly working on commissions, but it takes all my energy to just not die. I’m not built for this weather either.
Anyway, mizya‘s Ren is visiting in these photos. We worked on her swimsuit together the day before and then took both beach babes to the lake. :P
We had another local meet at Teeleidi today. I didn’t take much photos at the meet itself, since most of the time was spent talking and eating/drinking tea. Most of the dolls were on another table because the dishes filled the one we were using. But we did take the traditional group photo and then spead out to the garden to take some photos of our own dolls. xD
The bigger dolls were hanging out on the side table while we were conversing. Yami’s hand was slowly edging sideways, lol.
And now for the very few BJD randoms I have.
Miy is turning 11 next month. She’s been sitting in the same clothes in the same pose on my shelf for years, but a few months ago I took her out and made her new pants, yay. \o/ I love her despite never playing with her. She’s the oldest doll I have left (and my second doll ever). And I think she’d need a new fresh face up but with my track record, that will probably take a few years.
I’m just throwing in DD’s and Azones into this thing, because I don’t want to make three separate entries. Sorry. :P (I tend to like things well categorized but sometimes there’s gotta be exceptions.) These two doll types are close enough anyway. The few BJD photos I have will get a second entry.
I had a long pause from dolls where I didn’t do much, but in the past month or two, I’ve been more active again and although I haven’t done many full shoots, I have single photos of several of my dolls. So, I’ll be posting all of those here for now. There are just 1-3 of each set, so it doesn’t make much sense to give them their own entries.
Starting with Yuyuka. I re-did her face up and I was taking test photos of her here. But the face photos were boring, so I didn’t resize any of those. I need to take new ones soon.
I attended a doll meet on May 28th, and I guess it was officially a BJD meet, but DDs and Azones kind of took it over. I didn’t take many photos because the time just flew by. I had intented to take nice shots from the other owner’s dolls too, but I should’ve done that _first_ because I then got stuck taking photos of Kiyori in the tree (posted those already). But anyway, these are the few general photos I took (mostly of the group photo) and the few Yukihi photos I had.
The attendants were: myself, mizya, Pihlajakoto, Turre, Sweetneat/Milly and Kesakeru.

Alrighty, I like to do something for myself on my birthday every year, and this time it was having a shoot mizya and I had been planning for a while. Well, we took other photos too, but I’m only posting our Min Ki & Mi Cha date photos for now, because they’re cutiepies. ♥ ♥

I’ve had a mini-hiatus from dolls. I actually sold the Big Dipper I received a while ago, because I just couldn’t get around to painting it and I felt bad about buying it in the first place. It wasn’t a planned purchase, and since I bought Ivy at the same time, it ended up as a pretty costly order, while I wasn’t very well off financially. I’d still need to get more stuff sold to feel better, too. I need to sew a lot. For sale and for my own dolls. =__=;;
A few days ago, I found an old music love again. A band I loved as a kid and when I was growing up, but that I hadn’t really listened to in a few years. I just put all the albums I have on my playlist and have been listening them about non-stop today and a few days ago too (Mizya visited here inbetween). It’s really nostalgic and lifting my spirits. Also the fact that I have some peace and quiet for like a week really invigorates me and hopefully gives me new energy to work.
Anyway, like I mentioned, Mizya visited. We had plans for a good amount of photos, but the postal service kind of ruined that by not getting a package to the PO fast enough. Mizy picked that up first and then came here and it was evening already then. Grr. But we went out later anyway and visited this old quarry again. However, we were a little late and the sun set behind the treeline before we were completely done. There were lots more photos I still wanted to take but alas, we ran out of time.
Before the quarry we visited the lake, and although be basically had the beach to ourselves (it’s been quite cool so no swimmers) we didn’t feel like taking photos because sun was so low and it was gloomy. Instead we wathed a crow family play around. :’D

Ohoho, a little story activity here! This is a collaboration between mizya and I (and Azones and BJDs, thus it’s in both categories). I visited Mizy and brought her a new cafe floor, then quickly made a superb mop from our combined supplies… and then we got to it. I had Rise and Muu with me. Everyone else belongs to Mizya and so does most of Rise’s outfit because I don’t have anything new for her. We’d planned most of the story beforehand and the unplanned parts were mostly a collaborated effort. I posed and photographed the dolls & Mizya helped behind the scenes. I also edited the photos, but she added the Japanese/English commentary to the story. x3

So, my Souldoll Devonia arrived on November 19th. She was bit of an impulse buy and I still have nothing for her, although she took almost 3 months to arrive. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like her or not. And I have to say that I’m a bit dissappointed in her, and still don’t know if she’ll work for me or not. But I’ll paint her and get her ready and see then. If she doesn’t she’ll go out as a customized full set, probably.
My two biggest issues with her are:
Skin: Souldoll advertised her as violet grey and even told mizya that it’s darker and more grey than their Kayla was. Well, the grey is nowhere to be seen. She looks to be the same colour as Soom’s purple resin and I really don’t like it, it’s kind of gross. So, I can only hope I can hide it in photos and that she’ll grey out in time. Hopefully soon. Because she’s VERY purple. I actually wish I’d gone with my gut and bought her in white (maybe someone would like to trade), but souldoll said it was more grey and I believed them. I should know better by now. My only consolation is that the purple skin will yellow nicer than white would. White would turn yellow, whereas this will turn grey first and only then start to yellow.
Body: I already knew I’d hate the boob joint and the legs that are strung together. The legs aren’t actually as bad as I’d feared (I might still want to mod them if I end up keeping her). My biggest issue, however, is the head size. I ASKED Souldoll to provide a shot with the shoulders visible but they said “lol no, the head is a good size for the body”. …It’s really not. The body is so tiny and the shoulders so small that the head looks really big on it. In this instance, I am again wishing that I’d gone for a white doll, because I could then hybrid her into another body. Now I have to live with this and hope that clothes, wig and everything else hides the size.
I’m also a bit annoyed that Souldoll glues the special parts together even though I did not order painting. They’d be so much easier to paint if they weren’t intact already. Also, the parts are white so painting them is a pain. They have nothing on Withdoll, really. The attachments are kind of sucky too. The scythe is wobbly in the middle, but I didn’t keep it so, it’s not my problem. xD
Oh well, I’ll work on her, slowly but surely, and then see how I feel about her. I like her face, so I at least love that part of her. Even if her body is an idiot. TI need to make her some proper clothing and see how I feel about her then. And the face up needs some touch ups as well. Oh, and she’s still wearing her default Souldoll eyes because I don’t have any others for her that look nice. They’re okay for now.

Also from mizya’s visit. I’m quite loving these because they’re (some of them) quite different in a way.
Lilya loves photography. It’s her hobby and she probably asked Hisoka to come along this time because she didn’t want to go alone and have people stare. xD
Mizya visited with Mi Cha (and Hisoka) and we took some outdoor photos. I’m really happy with a lot of what I took today, though more with the HisaLily shots, but I’ll post those later. For now it’s just our cutie couple. :D
I took these a few weeks ago, but I’ve been feeling really out of it and didn’t get around to re-sizing them. More to come later.
Lilya grew a whole lot with her new body and she’s way too tall for her character right now, but unfortunately this is the only body that has the right shape and is the right size for the stupidly ginormous Iple head. >_>*** And I change change her head mold because there aren’t any others that are as perfect for her. Sigh.
I’d like to feel inspired again and take some more outdoor photos but currently my sewing machine refuses to sew leather and I kind of need leather clothes for what I had planned so… :/
