~45cm dolls
These are something I’ve had the idea for for a while but it’s been pretty dark. Today the sun was out, though there were a lot of clouds coming past, so the lighting kept changing, thus the different colours.
My noodle STILL needs a name, but I promise, I’ll get there. xD
These are the very first nudes I took… I actually just grabbed Avis in the evening after reading the info on the photo contest and traveled to the forest to just test this location. I hadn’t been here in a few years and it wasn’t as impressive anymore.. there was also trash and the moss had receeded. :< But the tree trunk photo is pretty much my favorite of her. I just couldn't enter with it because she's touching the trunk and it's covering her arm -that's against the rules. And I didn't feel like traveling back there to re-do it. Mostly because there are no paths there and though it's not far, it's a pain.
Alrighty. I’ve been taking nude photos of my dolls (well, mostly Avis, because come on, that body is sublime) all month for DoAs anniversary contest. So, now I have a gazillion extras. After these photos I’ll still post from another set with Avis and with Yami. And then from the set that I chose the actual contest photo from, but that’ll only be after the results are out. :3
These were taken last week in three different locations. I was with Mizya and we bought day bus tickets to be able to ride as much as we need. So, we went around Jyväskylä looking for water locations, and well, there are muuuch more to check out, but we’d probably need to make a plan if we’re going to venture to more places because these were directions I’m more familiar with. I love the location these first ones are taken in, it kind of looks like an exotic jungle this close up. Then there’s a more Finnish forest stream and a lake. Unfortunately it was really sunny in the morning and then cloudy in the evening. We really should’ve visited them the other way around…
I took a few trips to the beach with Mizya at the crack of dawn… figuratively speaking as the sun rises before 4AM. On Sunday I had Saya with me (editing the photos later) and we were there at 8AM, and today we went at 7AM to beat most of the swimmers and especially the kids that seem to arrive at around 9AM whether it’s a weekend or a weekday. On both days we first took doll photos and then went for a swim ourselves. Today I had the whole beach and deck to myself for a little while even. :D It’s infernally hot every day (25-30°C) and there are no clouds, but in the morning it’s still less horrible and the lakewater helps, although that too is at 23°C apparently.
Anyway, I was wondering who to take with me today and ended up going with Miy. Mostly because she could make use of the ring float (I was supposed to take the mattress as well but forgot and I’m kicking myself over it) and she hasn’t been maintenanced in a while. Avis would’ve been more handy but I _just_ redid her blushing and re-sueded her. Miy is very limited in her posing and I was pretty much able to only do one pose with the float, so these can get a bit repetitive. Sorry about that.
It’s been years since we’ve had snow in December. Actually, it’s been a while since we’ve had this much snow all winter -let alone December. I approve. Prisca was the only one dressed for the occasion though, so she was my only choice for photos. But hopefully the weather will keep on being nice this winter and I’ll get photos of my other dolls too. I should do some winter-themed sewing as well.
The days are still super short, but we’ve passed the shortest day of the year, so they’re slowly getting longer again and I should have more inspiration for photos. I hope :3
Prisca has been wading in the snow in less clothing before. I’d link the shoot here but I’m in the process of updating my main site and it’s not ready yet, so I can’t. But hopefully I’ll find the time and inspiration to finish that process soon. I have too many dolls because uploading their profiles is killing me -and I haven’t/won’t even write all of them down in length for now. x_x
Alright, so I went through the other flower photos too, and edited a few of them. I took these on June 8th. Taking grey skinned dolls to a location with a lot of green is not very flattering, I know this, and yet I still took two of them there, what is wrong with me? These are not amazing, but at least there are flowers? (I’m trying very hard to ignore those damn dandelions, too.)
The sun was out today for the first time in weeks. Unfortunately, just as I got to actually posing these two, clouds came and it got really dark. But since I’d taken the time to dress these two the night before (took like two hours due to having to iron the outfits and change limbs etc.) and set up the backdrop fabric, I thought: heck I’m not gonna stop without getting a single photo! Since it was dark already it was best to lengthen the exposure and I need a stand for that. So, I figured I might as well go all out with the pose (and take my time). Unfortunately it meant that I didn’t get a full shoot since just one took so much effort. So, the rest are pretty boring.
This is also the first time Delmia is wearing a uniform since changing her look. She had a dark theme before and wore a red and black uniform, but now that wouldn’t suit her anymore. Luckily I got this grey one back from Mizya since she sold her Apate in mini size and it suits Delmia well. Yay for not having to sew another one. Though, she does need a skirt of her own for it.
These photos are old and I’m posting them almost 2 years later (2018) because I forgot about them until I went to this location again to take more photos (also of Avis), so yeah. They were taken on this date (July 2016). Not very well, I might add… thus forgot them. But I want to have them here as a reference to myself. xD
Alrighty, I like to do something for myself on my birthday every year, and this time it was having a shoot mizya and I had been planning for a while. Well, we took other photos too, but I’m only posting our Min Ki & Mi Cha date photos for now, because they’re cutiepies. ♥ ♥
Too tied to go into more detail right now. It’s been a long day with commissions and then I edited these photos and ugghh. Enjoy.
I’m really on a roll. Commissions aren’t moving as well as photos, but it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve actually enjoyed taking photos. Lately, it’s just been me shooting sales or commission stuff. Feels good to do something for myself for a change -even if it’s just taking photo.
We removed the netting from around the cherry tree yesterday, because I’m pretty sure the hares won’t be eating it anymore. I made this swing a while ago but the weather hasn’t allowed me to test it -and the tree was inaccessible anyway. I also have an SD size, but that will have to be tested later (I have some niiiice plans for that one). ):D
I was only supposed to test the swing, but this turned into two mini-shoots. First one was Avis when I was just setting it up, and then I took Min Ki there too, because I quickly -finally- gave him a manicure and then felt inspired by him.
I took Prisca outside today since it was finally sunny and there were a few red-ish leaves left. This is an old silk dress I made for Lilya when she was still a MNF but it had some issues. I started taking it apart to add something to the back, but then got bored I guess and left it unfinished. It’s been in a fabric pile for years until I finally dug it up last week and completely re-did the back. A little fix wasn’t enough because Prisca is a lot taller than a MNF and she’s wearing super high heels too. And now she basically has a new dress. :D
I took a long, uphill trip to this place I found a few years ago while geocaching. I’ve been wanting to take photos there ever since I first saw the place, but it’s so far that I haven’t gotten around to, yet. Well, actually the spot is only 900m from my house but since I can’t fly, I have to go by the roads and that extends the distance to about 2.2km -most of which I cycled today. And I have to say that really took everything I had. I felt horrible once I was locking up my bike and almost turned right back to go home. My head wasn’t really working so I took the wrong path, which dissappeared about half-way there and I had to treck some 200-300m in the forest without a path with only a GPS to guide me. I would’ve turned back to look for the right path if I wasn’t so damn tired. Luckily I made it there eventually but it was not fun.
On a more random note, there’s a doll meet in my city this weekend. It’s in the evening, though and I generally don’t like leaving the house much after Noon (but I might go photographing with Mizya before it), so I still haven’t decided if I’m gonna go. It also gets dark really early this time of the year and doll meets in the dark are a bit… ehh. I also have absolutely no idea who to take with me. I could comfortably fit a big and a small doll with me, and the big doll will be one of my DDs (but who?) because my camera is heavy, so I don’t need a heavy doll as well.. but no idea which small one to take. Besides Lilya, nobody really has anything new and it has to be one I want to photograph before the meet itself too. Oh, the dilemma.

Oh yay, today, I was able to try out a shoot I’ve been thinking about for a while now. The weather just hasn’t been really cooperating: whenever I start thinking about building a set on my bed, the sun goes away. And when I consider doing it on our balcony, it’s too sunny. Well, today I built it on the balcony after the sun had turned away, so HA! Beat it. The downside was that the sun was also going down so there wasn’t as much light as I would’ve liked. I had a really interesting reflector set up and then I brought in my fan and… it was interesting. :P
Anyway, Prisca and Delmia got matching dresses (finally, I’ve been thinking of making another one of this style for years) and I wanted to try some dynamic poses with them. Slightly repetitive with the poses but I wasn’t trying to get a full shoot out of this. I was, however, supposed to take some close ups but I forgot. Oh well, I really like the last two ones ♥

This is a little bit repetitive, but oh well. This is me and my spring ritual. Except this year I didn’t have a new doll that’s ready for a photoshoot, so I took Prisca instead. She’s been standing on the shelf in this kimono, waiting for a photoshoot for weeks already.
