Site update

I’ve just spent a few days cleaning up my domain. I was running a little low on space, so I took it upon myself to go through my photoshoots and remove anything that could be removed. As a result I freed up 590MB of domain space, so that was a lot of photos. Thousands probably. I should some day go through the stories as well and remove anything that’s not relevant for the story. And the misc/sewing/faceup folders that are full of misc stuff. Unfortunately that’s even more work and this was hard enough for now. I had to remove the links to those shoots from the galleries and update new shoots +make new images for new dolls. I definitely didn’t manage to do this sooner than last time. Lol, this update was long overdue.

BUT it’s done now, and I made a new layout for the site itself while I was at it. I don’t love it, but it works better on my resolution now that it’s centered again. I finally also admitted that I just will never write long profiles for all of my dolls, so I just removed everything I hadn’t written yet from the profile section. Maybe some day I’ll write at least Khepre, Kilbas, Llyr, Sigrun, Sindri and Sigurd, because I have them mostly thought out. Some day.

Unfortunately, some of my older images on forums, journals etc. places I’ve posted them to no longer work. I also removed a few newer shoots which means the images are broken in this blog too. I’ll go through the blog later and remove the broken entries altogether.

That’s it for now. I should do some sewing and painting.

Real DD spam here. o/ I added some clothing pieced to Saya’s dress and it turned really casual so I wanted to take more photos of her, although I’m not 100% happy with her eyes or wig. But I like playing with her because she’s got so many different hands and her torso doesn’t get cut in half all the time. Though, I fixed Yuyu’s torso too, and it’s much more sturdy now. She just needs new clothing. But I did have her guest star in Saya’s shoot.

On a random note: I got my first doll exactly 10 years ago today. :D

Yuyu changes her hair?

Posting some backlogged Yuyu snapshots. I’m still trying to get along with her, so I’ve been doing wig and eye tests on her. Something about her is not quite working for me, so I’m trying to find what it is.
The first thing I should do is order some wigs but damnit, I can never afford that. I have an expensive figure I have to pay at the end of the month (the figure that actually tipped me over into the figure world, damn him!!) so I really can’t make a wig order unless I get stuff sold. Sighh. My doll funds are at a zero and I’m actually thinking of selling my Big Dipper that arrived a while ago because I just can’t seem to get to painting it. =__=

2 anime girls now

My first DD head now has a body. If you remember my first DD post with the table-flip story of how I hunted Yuyuka down, you might be happy to hear that I didn’t go through as much trouble with this body. Volks finally properly re-stocked all the bodies and most busts last month. I couldn’t afford one right away, but then I sold Fenrir’s body and went for Saya’s (I changed her name from Satsuki to Sayaka). I noticed that the semi-white DDdy bodies were running low on stock, so I got her one of those and a DDIII shapely L bust.

I know I was supposed to get a DDIII with an L bust, and I still want one, but the 07 head is huge and I really like how curvy the DDdy is, so I got that one instead. I still don’t like chest joints becauce they’re stiff, but oh well. With DD’s the joints are in the same place as in the other models (cause the inner frame is the same), but the higher hip piece does make it a lot more stiff. But she’s so curvy I forgive her. :P I always thought I would never get a DDdy because I don’t like the boobs like at all, but then I realized I could get a DDIII bust and just cut is shorter and then the curves really started tempting me. The fit is actually better than with the original bust IMO. It had huge gaps but this one doesn’t have any. I still want a DD with the DDIII body but I don’t know which one yet. I’d like a 05 head, but more than that I’d want one of the limiteds I’ve been pining after. We’ll see.

Oh, and I also have a 06 head, but I’m not yet sure what I’ll do with her. She can borrow Saya’s body for now, because I’m not sure if she’ll ever get one of her own. I still need more hands for my girls, too… when I can afford them.


This is the photo that made me decide that I needed to get her a body of her own (she’s on Yuyu’s NS body here). I updated her face up, put the Volks eyes back in her and tried this old wig on her and magic, I loved her. Although I’d previously been a bit mehh about her. Still, I might want to re-do the face once again at some point.

Sales and stuff

I’m selling some of my older dolls (and newer) that I don’t do much with anymore or that don’t really work for me. I have a fixed sales page in this blog (^ the link is up there ^) in case someone hasn’t noticed. I just sold the new body I got for Fenrir, because his head just doesn’t do it for me anymore. I still need to take good photos of the head and sell it as well, but I’m not sure if anyone will want him. He’s such an old and unknown mold.

But what makes me really sad is his sister, Hati. I’ve finally decided to let her go. I’ve been holding on to her because of how gorgeous her body is and how well it poses, but her huge head and thin neck has been bothering me for so long. The aesthetic just doesn’t work for me anymore, although she is absolutely gorgeous. I just hope someone will give her a good home.

Quick stand tests. Also a few older portraits. I’m waiting for new eyes for Yuyu that should FINALLY be up to my quality standards (I hope the fit is good as well). They’re a slightly wrong colour, but the seller didn’t have the right kind of purple, so I’ll have to live with them. But anything to be rid of these sucky WDS eyes. They’re so damn dull. =__= And then I’ll need to hunt down some nice eyes for Satsuki as well. Ugh.

I received some stands and took Somnion out for some wing photos right away. Well, tested them with Yuyu first, but I’ll do a separate post for her later.

The poses are kind of repetitive, but I was again just trying to get one shot. Until I got really into it and started testing things out. Nion was constantly surrounded by mosquitoes though and I had to photoshop a ton of them out. >_> Very annoying.

Sunlit Gardens

Yayy! I was finally able to get kimono!Lin photos in the apple tree garden that’s located near where mizya lives. She’s had him for years for this purpose but we always missed the flowers for some reason. She’ll post her own photos of this shoot to her blog. :3
This year the weather was really crappy and they’d protected the trunks with plastic and wire-netting, making them really ugly. But like hell we’d give up. The weather was sunny and cloudy every few minutes, the wind was infernal (we almost fell off the bridge while crossing the lake because it came in such huge gusts) and there were kids playing ball in the parts where the wire-nettings had been removed. Well, we went further away and removed the wire and the protective plastics ourselves from the trees we were shooting at and then put them back when we were done. Those protectors weren’t there last year, so that was really annoying, though.

Anyway, I managed to get some nice Lin photos (the last one is my favourite), although the wind tried to knock him over and make him push the parasol against his head, shoulder or neck all the time. It wasn’t easy. xD

Doll shelves!

A bit of a different entry, but I got myself a new bookcase/doll shelf combo! I now have almost everyone inside glass doors, so I thought I’d take a few photos of them. I used to have two showcases for dolls and a regular, dull bookshelf, but it was one huge waste of space. All the shelves were evenly placed and many of my books were too small fill it properly, so there was a lot of wasted empty space. I browsed through every furniture store site I could find and visited every local store, looking for a new shelf with glass doors but nothing was right. All the shelves were the wrong size, colour or price. So, I gave up, designed one myself and had dad help me build it. We worked on it together for a few months and it’s now finally done. I have the perfect book/doll shelf combo. <3

I could fit everyone except for Llyr in the three shelves I have. His feet are so huge that he takes up the space of two larger dolls or like 4 small ones (when he sits), so now he stands on my desk gathering dust. (Previously he sat in the old bookshelf.)

This is the new beauty:

I had to size the shelf based on those glass doors because they were pretty much the only ones available separately. However, I wanted the shelf to be bigger than what they would’ve made it, so I came up with the interesting asymmetric design. Of course I could’ve had someone make me glass doors exactly the right size, but those would’ve cost a fortune.

The shelf has a ton of different options for my dolls. A few of the shelves can be removed or changed, so that I can have the minis and smaller dolls stand or sit in many different places. <3

Golden Evening

I took some big!Prisca photos yesterday although I didn’t get her her new eyes yet. The order arrived but the seller accidentally sent me the wrong size, so I have to wait some more. =__=

I’m not sure if I should separate her from my regular Prisca tag somehow or not. Same character, different doll, different size… I just love making my life complicated. ^^;

Azone: Otouto-kun!

This was a total and complete impulse buy, really. I saw the second Detective boys release and put him on preorder right away, and only because I went an imagined a tsundere little otouto-kun for Rise (but he might end up as a neighbour’s kid). Aoto has a slight smile but I erased the corners of his mouth and reshaped them a bit. Though it’s still a bit messy and I need to fix it. But he just kills me.

I haven’t decided what to call him yet. I really like the name Aoto, but I can’t find nice kanjis for it. He’s a curious little thing, playing tantei-games, and yet interestingly Rise’s name (理瀬) can be intepreted as something akin to rapids/current of truth/reason/justice with those kanjis. Ahaha ^^; I need to decide, if he’ll just be あおと or something else altogether.
I’m a little sad that he doesn’t have brown eyes like Rise, but I died at the outfit of this release. The Alice’s teaparty ver. would have the eyes but the hair is lighter and although it’s cute, I like the tantei get up more. xD

Iria

I was planning on taking large!Pris photos today, but I noticed that her eyes will come tomorrow, so I postponed that shoot. And yayy, Iria is done, so I went out for a test shoot with her instead. I ran out of MSC semi-gloss and silver airbrush paint (well almost) and ran low on other paints too. Phew. I also finally fixed her eyebrows. I don’t think I did that much to them but her expression is sooo much better now. ♥

She doesn’t have the shield in these photos because she was already getting a bit too heavy to carry in one hand. Next I’ll need to test her with my Husky to see if he’ll be a human character like I planned or if he’ll join Iria’s story. xD

Senior Withdoll Girl (SWD) review

Mizya and I were able to get Withdoll’s new SWD girls a bit ahead of everyone else, to review the dolls and show everyone a different styling. We received them today and took some photos of the body before getting to the painting. This is still a prototype of the body and they might make improvements to it before the final release.

I have the Margery head on the SWD body in these photos. She wears a 8-9″ wig and 16mm eyes. I had hoped that 14mm would be fine for her, because I have plenty of those but no, they make her starey.

First of all, I compared the SWD to the mini girl. They’re both gray skin and it’s worth noting that although Pris is from 2011, the colour is pretty much the same (with the exception of Pris having yellowed). WD colours are very consistent.


The Margery is very similar to Priscilla. But her nose is smaller & softer and her eyes are much larger, making the bigger doll actually look younger. I do wish the head was slightly smaller all in all (if she wore 7-8″ wigs and 14mm eyes, it’d be quite perfect).
